Apparently it’s Trans Awareness week next week and the CEO of Trans in the City has been given the honour of closing the London Stock Exchange on Monday to mark this.

I wrote some examples of the CEO’s tweets to show the measured stance the CEO takes (not) but my post keeps being denied so will simply share their Twitter feed instead.

Why is the LSE okay with this?

Well, trans people should be able to have their feet under the table to the same extent as anyone else, no more and no less.

I have concluded, having read Lovelydovely's post, that I had misunderstood 'to close' in this context. I'd had visions of the building & activities being shut down at the behest of the Trans Taliban.

But no - my stocks & shares are as safe as they ever will be. it's just some bell-ringing exercise that some people request and are granted. Maybe a few other groups should make these requests. Has this ever been done for International Women's Day I wonder?
