London Stock Exchange to be closed by CEO of Trans in the City

Apparently it’s Trans Awareness week next week and the CEO of Trans in the City has been given the honour of closing the London Stock Exchange on Monday to mark this.

I wrote some examples of the CEO’s tweets to show the measured stance the CEO takes (not) but my post keeps being denied so will simply share their Twitter feed instead.

Why is the LSE okay with this?

Seriously was it not trans awareness week last week? Genuinely not being facetious. Do they get two?

ArabellaScott · 09/11/2021 18:09

Oh, wow, I thought you meant permanently. Thought that was a bit sudden. Grin

Whitefire · 09/11/2021 18:12

Oh this has posted twice.

Rose of Dawn did a video on this:

Are they taking exception to it being called the 'Stock' Exchange?

IDanielRadcliffe · 09/11/2021 18:14

Oh, wow, I thought you meant permanently.

So did I! I wondered if it was one of the more extreme aims like letting all trans prisoners go free.

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 09/11/2021 18:15

Ba da boom and tish 😂

NecessaryScene · 09/11/2021 18:16

Shock

Oh my god! Now we see the violence inherent in the system!

Grumpyosaurus · 09/11/2021 18:21

LOL.

Seriously, I thought we were but a year or so into Trans Awareness Decade.

SapphosRock · 09/11/2021 20:59

Oh I'm familiar with that trans in the city CEO.

Closing the LSE seems pretty harmless to me, compared with some of their other TRA activity.

VelvetChairGirl · 09/11/2021 21:05

So what happens on Womens month?

I mean it was only last month but did you see anything I didnt, all the big companies were still showing pride rainbows plastered all over their logos apart from a few that plastered themselves in black history rainbows because apparently thats a thing now, but no one plastered themselves in the suffragette flags colours or anything or even mentioned that october was womens month at all.

Whitefire · 09/11/2021 21:29

Actually does 'close' mean "if you are the last one out switch off the lights" type thing?

Thelnebriati · 09/11/2021 22:31

When were women finally allowed on the floor of The Stock Exchange, was it 1973?

ArabellaScott · 09/11/2021 22:35

Maybe run a duster over the desks, empty wastebaskets, kind if thing? I'm envisioning someone turning it off at the wall.
Rightsraptor · 09/11/2021 22:36

@TheInebriati - yes you are correct, it was 1973. To some of us, that seems a mere blink of the eye ago. These ludicrous people need lessons in women's history so they know how very recently we've actually made those gains they are fighting to roll back.

Rightsraptor · 09/11/2021 22:37

'Maybe run a duster over the desks, empty wastebaskets, kind if thing? I'm envisioning someone turning it off at the wall.' Don't forget cleaning the loos, @ArabellaScott

EishetChayil · 09/11/2021 22:43

Can there be anyone who isn't aware of trans still?

FemaleAndLearning · 09/11/2021 22:49

Wow 1973!

Whitefire · 09/11/2021 22:55

Oh yes that absolutely needs to done, and all the washing up too.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 09/11/2021 23:09

Gosh.

What did the Stock Exchange do to mark International Day of the Girl?

CheeseMmmm · 10/11/2021 02:33

I thought that the general trans groups were vv anti capitalism etc?

Still I mean. Great that such a hidden oppressed group is getting some coverage etc finally...

Lovelydovey · 10/11/2021 02:57

I have to admit this is something I can’t get worked up about. LSE have interest groups open and close the stock exchange fairly regularly - I’ve opened it with a group of 20+ other women as part of a supporting women in business initiative.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/11/2021 10:12

Oh yes that absolutely needs to done, and all the washing up too.

I would hope the SE would at least have a dishwasher they can load!

Yep even universal suffrage is less than 100 years.

maslinpan · 11/11/2021 10:26

To those posters who can't get worked up about this: small events like this just reveal the massive lie about Trans being marginalised and oppressed when their feet are so far under the corporate table.
