Ok, need help here...
If a girl now identifies as ‘they’ and you are looking for her, what is the (supposed) correct way to do this?
Is it ‘Where is they?’

It isn't. 'they' has always been used in this way, it's just getting more airtime now. If you know their name "where is X?" if you don't "where are they?" is perfectly normal, correct useage.

Unless you want to make some kind of point?

I think that anyone who'd seriously say 'they is' might like to consider whether they should use 'thou art' for second person singular instead of the ambiguous 'you are'.
