LH was only present at the Olympics to create a new precedent. I wouldn't be surprised if she'd had a phone call before her event. If she'd won that might have set the agenda back again in the subsequent outcry. The fact she threw it meant a/ no negative publicity b/ door opens to other male-bodied competitors in female Olympic categories. Eyes now on Paris 2024.

There should be an inquiry by the OC on whether that event was intentionally thrown by Hubbard. Although fairness and sporting standards are something they've made clear is mere silly nit picking when it comes to males using women's sports.

Laurel Hubbard failed right away. Her failure proved once and for all that the entire panic about "male advantage" and "males dominating sports" is completely unfounded.

Show me another injured 43 year old female weightlifter who manages to make it to the Olympics then come back and tell me LH had no advantage!
