Surgeons advertise procedures to free non binary people of all genitals

Surgeons in the USA, via California are advertising surgeries to non-binary people that will remove their 'genital structures' so that their body will resemble 'neither male nor female'.

How this be allowable I have no idea. It seems like a free for all for unethical surgeons, coming up with bizarre concepts of what non-binary should be, based on their own imaginings.

Women are Human

This is just pure madness. But as foolish as it is, I am less concerned about what some misguided individuals willfully do to their own bodies than I am about the effect that the transgender movement has on women as a whole by violating women's boundaries.

Wh0Knew · 29/07/2021 05:59

There are also examples of people wanting both male and female genitalia. I can’t remember the details, but read of one person who was crowdfunding for surgery to “add in” a “vagina” to their existing genitalia.

OldCrone · 29/07/2021 06:10

There are also examples of people wanting both male and female genitalia.

The article mentions that as well.

The same company offers a procedure called “phalgina,” or “penile preservation vaginoplasty,” which allows males who identify as transgender or non-binary to install a facsimile of a vagina while retaining the penis.

Iootraw1 · 29/07/2021 06:23

This is sickening and warped. These so called doctors should be struck off. They are wilfully experimenting on people for their own gratification . Clearly they want to bring about some world firsts as surgeons abs gain profit and power from it. They are sick. Still in the US I do hope there will be plenty suing them for damages in the future and they will deserve it.

Helleofabore · 29/07/2021 07:31

This has to be seen as abuse of patients in light of their mental health issues. Surely, this cannot be encouraged.

And ‘add Ins’? WTF!!!

Tibtom · 29/07/2021 08:17

Isn't there an issue with claims getting time-barred after only a few years?

But this is what happens when cosmetic surgery, a competitive market, surgeons' egos, money, and a lack of morals mix.

FemaleAndLearning · 29/07/2021 08:23

This is one of those situations where just because we can do something doesn't mean we should.
Where are the ethics panels at these companies?

NotBadConsidering · 29/07/2021 08:25

Horrific. Just horrific. Every day when you think it can’t get worse, it does.

littlbrowndog · 29/07/2021 08:32

I have read about this. It sounds dreadful

I dunno, how doctors can do this

Whatwouldscullydo · 29/07/2021 08:44
Shock

Why would you do that.

Surely this would come under fgm for the female patients?

Just how could anyone do this to people. Someone somewhere needs to just say "no we are stopping here before you do actual physical permant harm to yourself"

This shows a complete lack of understanding about what roles that genitals and the reproductive system play in the health of our bodies.

Deliriumoftheendless · 29/07/2021 08:47

Has anyone seen the film American Mary?

FlyPassed · 29/07/2021 08:52

@tibtom there's a young detrans man called Garrett (Kellie-Jay and Benjamin Boyce have interviewed him) who said where he lives the statute of limitations is one year.

FlyPassed · 29/07/2021 08:53

@Deliriumoftheendless yes! Such a good film but incredibly unsettling. When it came out I thought it was fiction

LazyViper · 29/07/2021 09:02

Horrific. How is this remotely legal? Guessing (hoping) it wouldn’t pass the ethics committee in UK institutions?

Abhannmor · 29/07/2021 10:28

O brave new world that has such people in 't. Sigh. Why have we come to hate ourselves so much ? I had thought the Transhumanist stuff was a far fetched conspiracy theory. Not so sure now.

Deliriumoftheendless · 29/07/2021 10:33

Yes, I didn’t think it would be taken as the way forward for plastic surgeons.

Madness lays this way!

EishetChayil · 29/07/2021 12:01

The early 21st century will go down in history as an era when medical ethics went out of the window.

TheMoreThisReachesTheMainstrea · 29/07/2021 12:18

There’s also the Zero Depth Vaginoplasty, which gives the external appearance without any, erm, internal component

ArabellaScott · 29/07/2021 12:28

Well, it's logical, in the way that gender ideology has its own very warped logic, and if you buy into the idea that genitals = gender it makes its own kind of sense.

We've seen a lot of 'trans kids' - are there many 'non-binary' kids? Parents looking to have their bodies adjusted accordingly? Aligning children with their own inner non-binary essence by permanent puberty blocking was something I've seen suggested.

Imasoulman · 29/07/2021 12:44

I can't get my head around why you would want both!

However the idea of just having your genitals removed and everything being smoothed off so to speak could actually be a viable option for older people with gender dysphoria.

TheSlayer · 29/07/2021 12:48

This sort of thing actually makes me question raising my son without stereotypes. We dress him in all colours and don't restrict him to stereotypically male activities.
It worries me there's a danger that not enforcing stereotypes could send my child down a confusing path. If others suggest he's unusual for not being a stereotype will he be more susceptible to people saying he needs to change his body? As someone with a disability I can see him buying into the wrong body narrative.

As a parent it's worrying.
I imagine that it's designed to be that way.

ArabellaScott · 29/07/2021 12:55

I think raising a child with a very clear understanding of the difference between sex and gender is less confusing, Slayer. My kids both know - in basic terms - that their bodies are their sex (boy/girl) and that their clothes/hair/toy preferences have absolutely no bearing on that. They have a rough but clear understanding that society tends to tell girls and boys that they ought to act certain ways ('some people say girls should wear pink all the time') and that adults can be straight, lesbian, gay or bisexual.

It doesn't seem complicated to me. I just try to encourage my children to look after their bodies, while also be accepting of themselves and respectful of others.

ditalini · 29/07/2021 12:56

This has been happening for a while. Lots of fetishes around being a eunuch or "smooth" or nullo.

I think these ones fit more neatly into the category that includes people getting surgery to make themselves look like a cat though, or really extreme tatooing/implants, rather than gender dysphoria.

The world is full of people with very specific interests.

TheSlayer · 29/07/2021 13:03

I hope so, @ArabellaScott.
But have seen enough posts from worried mums who raised their children without stereotypes to worry me.
And my very stereotyped from birth is currently identifying as a boy(probably to opt out of beauty pagents) so it seems no children are immune.

People should just be grateful to have healthy, working bodies. Some people aren't lucky enough to have that and it makes me sad and angry to see people throwing away the gift of nature a healthy body is.
