Feed your newborn babies experimental drugs!

What? Does that sound absurd and possibly even criminal?

Well, that was yesterday’s perspective, and today is a new day.

The Australian Breastfeeding Association reckons this is A-Okay.

It's disgraceful, and (that article is the first of several planned so she may get round to it) also ignores the harm to the mother who will suffer engorged breasts, maybe mastitis and will be deprived of the opportunity to breast feed her own baby with the milk pouring out of her. Men who want to do this need investigating for abuse - coercive control of the mother (possibly) and abuse of the baby and that before we start of including the baby in a sexual fetish. No health professional should be facilitating this. And no organisation set up to help MOTHERS should be celebrating this.

DaisiesandButtercups · 25/07/2021 10:40

Absolutely FannyCann, I agree with everything you said.

Absolutely. The article contains links to the ABA's contact form and I encourage all women that are angry about this to send their thoughts and concerns to the ABA.

I'm going to have to take a couple of hours for this to settle with me as (with so many pieces) it's going to take a while for me to accept what it is that I've just read and that somebody thought this was perfectly reasonable to write and publish.

dyslek · 25/07/2021 13:12

I guess there are no laws agaist this as no one really thought it was going to be a thing, men demanding to 'feed' babies.

I just dont understand how this is legal?

dyslek · 25/07/2021 13:15

A man (or woman for that matter) inserting part of their body in to a baby (who cannot consent) for their own gratification is evil, in the extream.
As are the people who enable it. That these people are proffessionals who should know the dangers involved is beyond shocking.

endofthelinefinally · 25/07/2021 13:18

When you consider how women are berated and warned to never take any medication while pregnant or breast feeding, left in pain after CS or birth injuries all to "protect" the baby, this idea that giving men drugs to produce some sort of secretion is just horrific.

Cailleach1 · 25/07/2021 14:41

So, they recommend feeding a baby any old chemicals now? The whole point of promoting natural breastfeeding is to ensure your baby first gets the colostrum which passes immunity for the early days. And, then tailor made nourishment which adapts to the needs of a growing baby.

If it is for the self gratification of an adult (who is taking and passing on artificial chemicals), it sounds that babies would probably be safer if the organisation promoting that is disbanded. This would strike me as the organisation promoting the adult male centred 'chest' feeding as adopting a completely different role in society. They need an XXX rating.

I was so careful when breastfeeding. Reading any prescription information leaflet and having to go back to the doctor on one occasion when it said not suitable for breastfeeding mothers.

NotJustfriends · 25/07/2021 14:45

Absolutely shocking.

Understandable. This is extremely disturbing.

This makes my blood boil. The poor babies who have been/are going to be negatively affected by this disgraceful experiment, devised to satisfy some awful, selfish, perverse desire. I breastfed my babies, and wasn't even allowed to take the majority of most basic medications, incase of transfer through the breast milk. Why on earth is feeding a baby a cocktail of artificially induced "fluid" okay and seemingly being actively encouraged? It's child abuse. Pure and simple.

Dollpiglet · 25/07/2021 14:57

I have DC with multiple allergies and I'm amazed at how many things go through from mums diet to breast milk and how little research there is on the process. How can they begin to recommend doing this!?

I wholeheartedly feel that this meets the WHO's definition of child neglect - According to WHO (2006, p. 10):

Neglect includes both isolated incidents, as well as a pattern of failure over time on the part of a parent or other family member to provide for the development and wellbeing of the child – where the parent is in a position to do so – in one or more of the following areas:

health
education
emotional development
nutrition
shelter and safe living conditions.

Exactly. I cover this part of the issue in the above article, and I go further into the ABA's betrayal of women in this article, just published - www.criticalthinkinginapassiveworld.com/local-news-1/the-aba-abandons-women-and-babies-part-2

It's a dystopian nightmare.

I sometimes post articles like this on social media with very little response apart from 2 male muslim friends of mine. I am pretty sure most think these are articles from crazy fringe groups and not what is mainstream now

Appalling and shocking move from the Australian Breastfeeding Association. I hope that many women reading the articles I have written will send their thoughts directly to the ABA.

Absolutely! Please, send the ABA your thoughts. Your location does not matter. They need to hear from mothers, period.

Yes, we have a problem with a lack of mainstream media coverage that is balanced and critical, and a lack of confidence in independent writers. This is why I ensure my articles are referenced and have supporting evidence and information attached (hyperlinked or referenced etc.) so that at least readers know they are getting facts.

Thanks OP, you have articulated perfectly my thoughts, as well as agreeing with other issues raised.

"it is part of the severing of the bond between mother and baby....
As mentioned earlier, the ABA is advocating for the removal of women, of mothers, from the breastfeeding process. It is advocating for an entirely different, perverse, harmful processs_ to ‘feed’ a vulnerable newborn baby. The action of supporting and advocating for any man to chest feed a baby is in direct opposition to the well-being of women and their babies. The two cannot co-exist within any association or group, even more so if that association is meant to support breastfeeding mothers and their babies."

You are welcome. I do what I can through different ways, and writing is one of them. I am a mother. I breastfed my son. I had good and horrible experiences. A man cannot birth or form milk for a baby and this madness has to stop.

I am interested OP, there was an issue with a study where one of the researchers, a trans person themselves, didn’t feed their own infant using this method because of the unknown effects on the brain from the drugs. Was it the study you referred to, or a different study. The researcher was successful in inducing lactation in some one else to feed an infant.

It seemed highly dodgy to me that they would do this experiment to another child but not their own.
