Looks like Helem Webberley's substantive case has finally been listed for 26th July 2021

Seems she’s there in some sort of ‘non-medical advocacy’ role Hmm

Yes. You would think they'd want to distance themselves from her but such is the world of gender/medical ethics they are happy to keep a person with a criminal record and allegations of dishonesty to act as an advocate for their business. It's a back to front world in every way!

[quote Signalbox]Haven’t they both moved abroad and Gender GP continues from outside of the U.K.?

The Webberley's no longer own Gender GP. It's owned by "Hong Kong based Harland International Ltd, a global organisation which provides advocacy services for LGBTQI+ people around the world"

The Webberley's would be mad to be undertaking any clinical work atm as this would guarantee them being struck off at tribunal. I can't imagine they would be able to get indemnity either as they are both suspended.

Twitter thread about GenderGP and the Webberleys' various businesses:
twitter.com/DanialWebb/status/1334617840431886336

GenderGP was founded by Dr Helen Webberley, a GP who was suspended by the GMC in 2018 for running an unlicensed clinic that gave hormones to children as young as 12. Helen moved her clinic to Malaga with her husband Dr Mike Webberley, who was also suspended by the GMC.

After this, things get murky. GenderGP claim that their business was acquired by Harland International, which claims to be "a global organisation providing advocacy services for LGBTQI people globally" and is incorporated in Hong Kong

@Signalbox thanks for that screenshot. Very illuminating. As @PenguindreamsofDraco says, if you're considered too risky for the Tavi ...

**It's a long case...

26 Jul 2021 to 15 Oct.

I guess they've got a lot to get through!

That is a lot of time allocated! If she has legal representation and is putting up a fight that will be expensive.

She should try a GoFundMe. I can think of a couple of doctors who would surely be happy to lob in a fiver.

Trying to remember who it is on Twitter that has put in sterling work unravelling the Hong Kong / Caribbean tax haven connection among other things. I'm guessing he will be watching this closely.

(I can't remember which Caribbean place I am talking about! Might not even be Caribbean, just in the general geographic area. Could be Central America! )

stumbled into the most vile Dr (Scout leader & Church elder) who had been inappropriately messaging children. I didn't finish reading it, but what I did read was grim. I'm pleased he was struck off, a paediatrician no less.

But apparently donning a dress and calling yourself Janet in order to access vulnerable children is far too much effort for anyone and never happens....

Hmm... I wonder if things will become clearer during the hearing.

It's Daniel Webb. A pp has posted an extract. Some of the threads are v detailed, but here a recent summary by him about webberley no longer owning gender gp:

"Helen claims that gendergp was acquired by a company called Harland International, which in turn was acquired by a shell company in Belize. This company is in turn directed by another company registered at Helen’s home address."

I suppose it would explain this allegation...

"The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that, when acting as the principal provider of the Gender GP website, Dr Webberley attempted to avoid the regulatory framework of the United Kingdom"

It’s truly horrifying the lengths some people will go to to make money/prey on the vulnerable.

Ah thanks @Manderleyagain I missed the link up thread.

He is looking for volunteers to attend and take notes of proceedings as obviously 55 days is a massive time commitment that not many can do.

I believe she is employed in a ‘consultancy’ role for the company. Danial Webb has done a great deal of investigating on the Webberleys and Gender GP. He’s already commented on Twitter.

Bloody hell @Outhere
I've just been looking at the case of the scout leader/paediatrician.
Apparently the mother of one child reported the matter to the police but they took it no further due to lack of realistic prospect of a conviction.

So all those red flags count for nothing. And as far as one can tell he may have been struck off but he's still out there...

Not sure why I've bothered to redact his name. It's there, in the public record, easy to find.

As a side issue his hearing was seven working days.

The fifty five days allocated to Webberley must surely be a record?

Yeah, I clocked that @FannyCann, bloody awful. I read some of the messages and got enraged. I deal with enough of that shit irl so decided to step away. I read through some of the HCPC ones a few years ago and read about the case of a paramedic who attached electrodes to an unconscious woman's nipples (for the sake of clarity, there was no medical reason to do so). Utterly vile.

55 days is going some. I'm very tempted to put myself forward.

FannyCann · 05/07/2021 21:02

I can't see Webberley will have the money to pay for legal representation for 55 days. I think she just won't turn up.
What happens then? Do they just go through the evidence without any sort of defence and come to a verdict in absentia? I guess they must be able to get through it all more quickly if there is no defence to hear? There is clearly a lot to work through and it needs to be all out in the open for public view.

There is a statutory requirement for doctors to be indemnified so the chances are she will be represented and the costs will be covered by her indemnity. If she didn't turn up it would go very badly for her as you have a duty to engage with your regulator.
