Would be good to know if he has been charged and chucked out of the uni for good

@Waitwhat23

There's a particular poster on here who has made repeated and unpleasant diatribes towards Scottish people. The fact that at least one of the gun toting individual's tweets was directed toward Marion Miller (a Scottish woman) by name while another suggested violence towards those who use the hashtag 'Women won't wheesht' which began as a Scottish slogan (though seems to be used across the world now), indicates a very personal and specific reason behind the defence of these utterly indefensible threats.
I wonder if it's what's-their-face?

@MargaritaPie

I saw the post:

It was clearly a toy kid's gun.

The post didn't actually name MM or anyone else. It wasn't targeted at any individual.

Wasn't it like from 10 months ago even before MM got charged? I think police action if any would have happened by now.

The police have recently said themselves (in response to Gender Criticals who reported Sussex Uni students) that "while a lot of internet content is offensive, little of it is actually illegal". British laws lean towards free speech to allow for debates, protesting etc to an extent without half the population being thrown into prison I presume.

Forgive me if I'm wrong or missing the point, but isn't this the exact same image that MPie posted on the bullying Kathleen Stock thread on 8th Oct at 15:34.

Kathleen Stock or Marion Miller? (Image may not be visible in this quote)

Yes. Same disingenuous poster.

It is, yes, but tbf this was added:

I’m sure the police think that posting photos of guns, with comments about making lists of people the poster wants to use for target practice, is “free speech and not at all worrying or threatening.

Are they airsoft guns?

If you robbed a bank with one they'd be treated in law as if they were regular firearms. So it'd be interesting to find out if this individual gets prosecuted for anything.
Unbelievable that a bit of ribbon results in expensive, public, protracted prosecution and making threats with what looks like a firearm is just meh.

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 12/10/2021 16:04

And despite it being gender that matters only one sex is prosecuted.

Weird that!
