This morning before beading off for work I was preparing tonights dinner in the slow cooker.

I asked husband to 'get it out for me' meaning the slow cooker only to turn around and see him standing with his penis poking out of his PJ's Shock

Husband thought it was hilarious, however I was somewhat shocked. For context, he has never done anything like this before and I am frankly perplexed by it. I am not without humour, but just don't think this was funny Sad Not quite sure why!

I have been pontificating in it all day, help me resolve it.......

I would have found this funny! Sorry OP sounds like you were tired and it caught you off guard.

neroforte · 07/04/2021 21:04

poor bloke

Hoppinggreen · 07/04/2021 21:06

I wouldn’t have found it funny but as a one off I wouldn’t really care either
I dint think you have been pontificating on it, at least I hope not

TheMamaYo · 07/04/2021 21:14

Grin Funny. 🤷‍♀️

BigFatLiar · 07/04/2021 21:26

I'd have just said that he'd reminded me to get some cocktail sausages.

In the house he was trying to be funny if it was in Tesco's I'd be a little worried.

Meltedwellie · 07/04/2021 21:29

I would’ve found that really funny! 😂

Puddingypops · 07/04/2021 21:37

Yeah I would have giggled at that, it’s just a joke between two partners, a silly one but it’s no big deal. Me and my husband in our 20s used to have a running joke that if one person went to get something from another room or have a wee, the other would remove all their clothes and be in the exact same position as when the task runner returned, always made us laugh, I mean it’s the only people you can play these daft pranks on. In company? LTB, just between you, giggle eye roll “grow up Dave” and carry on Smile

TommytheSquirrell · 07/04/2021 21:56

Type of thing my DH every couple of days, I usually laugh, sometimes roll my eyes on the odd occasion it leads to a good time.

I’m easily amused though, although maybe lighten up a bit a childish joke isn’t really that bizarre even if you don’t find it funny.

SelfPortraitWithEels · 08/04/2021 11:46

I agree with a lot of the other posters - if this is someone you have a good, easy sexual relationship with, it's childish but hilarious some people would find it amusing. Your reaction suggests the shock I'd feel if it were in a public place, or if you didn't have the sort of implied ongoing consent that goes with that sort of relationship - is it very out of character, or do you generally like to keep sex very earnest? (I don't mean that in a judgey way.)

SelfPortraitWithEels · 08/04/2021 11:49

Sorry, just reread your post and you do say he hasn't done anything like it before - were you shocked because you couldn't work out why he'd suddenly manifested a hitherto unsuspected strain of naughtiness?

highame · 08/04/2021 16:16

Definitely Lockdown syndrome and lack of sleep (I would have laughed I expect but who knows) Grin

@Maduixa

What's the relevance to feminism of this thread?
If I was a suspicious type I'd think it was plopped here to get "proof" that we're a bunch of man-hating, humourless shrews.

Good job I'm not the suspicious type.

Cleversaz · 08/04/2021 18:09

I'd have laughed but then me and DH are quite juvenile and do stuff like that all the time Grin

Luckyelephant1 · 08/04/2021 18:19

I'd have laughed but we do stupid things like that all the time and basically turn literally anything into an innuendo.

I guess if you don't have that type of relationship normally then it's a tad strange but personally I think it's weirder to spend all day dwelling on it for a 'meaning' and posting a thread on MN about it 🤷‍♀️

Livpool · 08/04/2021 18:43

I would have laughed and thought nothing of it. It's juvenile but lots of humour is

Spr0cker50 · 08/04/2021 18:48

Mine does this on a regular basis- a couple of times its been a close call with someone walking into the room! I think its weird if he's never done it before and you don't usually have these sorts of jokes

pigeonontheroofagain · 12/04/2021 08:52

I think you are being treated quite harshly in the comments op. I recently had a similar experience with my partner, we are in a jokey loving relationship but he whipped his erect dick out when I was having a bad day. I laughed out of awkwardness at the time but it made me feel quite odd and not respected. Don't let other people make you feel bad for a human reaction.

deydododatdodontdeydo · 12/04/2021 09:02

Not something I would have spent a whole day agonising over.
Whether I found it funny would depend what mood I was in.
DH would be more likely to say "what - here and now"? than actually get it out though.
