Children born in the wrong bodies

I’m confused about this - how can children be born in the wrong bodies and why are schools teaching this? Why are adults including people at the BBC, Guardian and Pink News pushing this idea?
How are doctors pushing this too, or members of the Green Party, SNP and Labour?
Where is the science to say that children are born in the wrong bodies?

Thanks @WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo.

I appreciate your kind words.
Hope I did not over share ...

I can overdo it, and I am aware intersex issues can scare and freak people. no intersex person is the same, and we are not freaks (well not too freaky) .. and we live regular lives.

I can't understand why it would scare or freak anyone.

sadly some, NOT all, have no idea of what it means. I am cool about it once they know. But men often ask daft questions, assuming I am a true hermaphrodite, (OLD medical term), women on the whole are more understanding, but sadly not many facts are "out there"

I have even walked into a hospital, as a male, going for a female examination, and they have looked puzzled, young nurses... but i can laugh it off.

Some feel uncomfortable to mention, - so maybe "scare and freak out " were the extreme reactions. Still a stigma, and not something mentions in the office ...

You definitely didn't over share. I think the reason some people would be scared or freak out is because the general public doesn't know anything about intersex conditions. It's only by learning that the "fear" (for want of a better word) will lessen.

Agreed, we see "trans" issues are being wide spread, even in primary schools, and sadly "non binary" term has gone mad. No one is "non binary" ... so hey assume intersex is same as trans, even medical professionals can assume. Yes knowledge is the key. Thanks for assurance I did not over share ..
