Sorry to ask a potentially stupid question here, but... so if the judge is saying that people should record their sex as it appears on their birth certificate, does that not mean that a trans woman could record their sex as female, even though they were born male as they would have their birth certificate changed once they legally transitioned?

So we still wouldn't have accurate figures?

I did notice that in the "Motherland" Christmas Special closing credits she had reverted to her maiden name, but wasn't sure if that was a business decision.

Currently listening to Glinner’s address to committee- excellent. Linking this back to Stonewall’s refusal to engage in response to the petition asking to lower the temperature and debate. Pointing out that women’s rights are not transphobic and chilling effect of JKR witch hunt. Shaping effect of social media platforms. This is barnstorming. ‘Men are not women’ is not hate speech. Lesbians and women canaries down the coal mine. Discourse and policy is anti-democratically being decided by TRAs. This is a wider problem than social media companies.

A transwoman would need a Gender Recognition Certificate to change their birth certificate but firstly this is how the law was actually intended to operate and secondly only a very small percentage of trans people obtains GRCs (so long as self-ID doesn't become law) SeaShoreGalore.

The Gender Recognition Act is not helpful but government departments operating in accordance with a twisted version of the law as spread by Stonewall is far worse.

@SeaShoreGalore yes someone with a GRC can get an amended birth certificate and would be able to put their GRC sex rather than biological sex - but that's only about 5000 people
