50:50 Parliament Campaign to Encourage Women in Politics now have TWO Transwomen on the Panel

I saw 50:50 women tweet to Sue Pascoe Chair of the Conservative Women’s Organisation some time ago on their #askhertostand, but then I couldn’t find the tweet and thought maybe they’d realised their mistake (can you guess?) and deleted it.

However, how wrong I was! There are now two people that have extremely limited ‘lived experience’ as a female (Sue was a married father and successful businessman and Master to Foxhounds until a few years ago). The other person has said hi on here recently.

I don’t mean to be rude but surely the whole point of encouraging women to stand for Parliament is to help overcome the barriers women face in entering politics. Any barriers that trans people face are rather different. It is also interesting that on a panel of three for their ‘Encouraging LGBT+ Women to Stand’ campaign, there us only one person with actual lived experience of being a woman (I am hoping that Mandu Reid of the WEP was born female at least...??)

If you have to make a case and argue that you are a woman, despite what others may think, then you are not a woman. No woman here has ever had her woman-ness in doubt.

You can try and twist words however you like but at the end of the day a woman is a female body with any personality. Everyone know this, some will deny it for their own reasons but we all know and you do to.

I have very much enjoyed reading this thread on this sunny morning - most illuminating.

There's too many great posts to namecheck but asking for a friend was a personal highlight so thanks Tinsel Grin

To any lurking newbies from twitter who have got this far - hello! Smile

Considering how much time some TRAs appear to spend navel-gazing, it surprises me that they don't realise what their belly button represents.

@MNHQ
Thinking about Michelle’s deleted post yesterday and my deleted post that referenced hers. Can you please clarify whether we are allowed to use the terms “male women” and “female women”? You allow us to use terms like natal women and transwomen (as a single word) so if not these terms then why not?
Thanks

@RedToothBrush

I think Bewilderness needs a name check and a quick c and p on this thread.
  1. Women are responsible for what men do.
  2. Women saying no to men is a hate crime.
  3. Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and selfish.
  4. Women’s opinions are violence against men, thus male violence against women is justified.
  5. Women and Feminism must be useful to men or they are worthless.
  6. Women who go around being female AT men by menstruating and breastfeeding babies deserve punishment.
  7. Women should always be grateful to men for everything.
  8. Men are whatever men say they are and women are whatever men say they are.
  9. Men always know the “real reasons” for everything women do and say.
10. The worst thing about male violence is that it makes men look bad. 11. Whatever women suffer from, it is worse when it happens to men. 12. Women’s ability to recognize male behavior patterns is misandry. 13. Angry women are crazy. Angry men have trouble expressing themselves. 14. Women have all the rights they need: The right to remain silent. 15. Men are the default human. Women are strange subhuman others. 16. Everyone owns and controls women’s bodies except the women themselves. 17. Men are better at performing femininity than women are because they invented it and it gives them a boner.

Love to see the list every so often.

That’s interesting re the perception that we must have a “leader”.

Really only people of quite an authoritarian mindset would think that women expressing their opinions would need to be led into it.

Knowing the reality of women’s existence doesn’t need to be sanctioned top-down. It’s always been grass roots and organic. It doesn’t need a set of rules and a leadership team. I admire a great many women, on and off this board, but they’re not in charge of me.

I’ve been thinking a lot recently over how much people need to have a set of rules to follow, and to what extent people can self-generate those rules and to what extent people want to outsource their belief systems. Then, when you have them, to what extent do you believe that everyone should follow the rules that you’ve settled on? All scarily relevant to this topic.

Barracker got the job after our great leader Glinner was deposed I think.

You see, women cannot think for themselves. They have to be told what to think. We must have a leader.

Huge numbers of women reading, watching, cogitating, coming to their own conclusions and sharing them on a forum? No chance. Lady brains not up to it. Girl mode is for pillow fights in lingerie not politics!

Or maybe they are so used to being told what to think they assume we are the same?

Lads, we don't need high priestesses here. The gobbiness is all our own doing.

@Floisme

I have to admit, if Barracker challenged me to a debate, I'd probably hide behind site rules too.
Absolutely

To be fair if barracker challenged me to tiddlywinks id be checking the site rules ....or the immigration requirements for somewhere not here

terryleather · 17/02/2021 09:14

All hail Barracker, Queen Of The FWR Vipers! Grin

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 17/02/2021 09:15

barracker 💐

WeAreJackieWeaver · 17/02/2021 09:16

Can the new leader please start paying us some of the alt-right Christian money they’ve got holed up somewhere? I’m a bit brassic.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 17/02/2021 09:16

Oh my god I found an otter emoji 🦦

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 17/02/2021 09:16

Woke up this morning and was a woman.

Didn't need to do anything to my body or mind to be a woman. I had on no make up, no clothing, I didn't giggle, think of boys, speak with a vocal fry, take medication or have a need to do something to myself in order to convince anyone else that I am female.

I just woke up and was a big old fat womanly woman.

Perhaps THAT is the definition of a woman? That you don't need to exercise any effort at all in order to be one?
