I saw this post shared on Reddit and got me thinking about the use of these terms. Totally agree with what she is saying.

@Quaagars

* “I don’t mind the term policewomen because I know it includes both male and female officers”
  • Dave, 42, policewoman*

That made me laugh more than it should!

I clicked on as this was showing up in my thumbnail and I agreed (as in I don't mind the term policewomen) and that was all it showed.
Was going to say the term boss babe or mumpreneur are irritating (like I said earlier in the thread) as you don't say that about men.
Mumpreneur etc is just Hmm
Policewomen though, they're just doing their job and nothing wrong with saying policewomen.
Was coming on to say this, then clicked on and it's just some arsehole trans opinion turning every single bloody thread into a trans one.

What has any of this got to do with trans?!

Another good one from The Man Who Has It All Facebook is the posts about Doug Emhoff, the new second gentleman and husband of Vice President Kamala Harris.
See attached Grin

I think maybe you’ve missed the joke on the “Dave, 42, policewoman” thing, it doesn’t have anything to do with trans. Here’s another example attached.

Some women find the term mompreneur, mommypreneur, mummypreneurs etc empowering and indicative of a self-employed business model where they're not just working for the man.

But that is concerning in itself.

Many self employed people are badly paid and have very few rights. Women are specifically targeted by MLMs who sell the idea of ‘owning your own business’, when at best they are just asking people on low incomes to take on risk.

If you ‘work for the man’ you have rights to maternity leave and pay, pension contributions, redundancy pay.

Believing that the self employed business model is empowering because it isn’t just ‘working for the man’ is a bit of a red flag when so many worker’s rights have been removed by the gig economy.

I didn't see anyone getting like this over the term "kindlepreneur" and that business has been going for a few years. But it's run by a man, so maybe that's why people accept the term as legitimate.

Have never heard the term, but would assume it means self publishing for very little financial reward. Again, adding ‘preneur’ onto the word doesn’t encourage confidence.

I work in a company that is massively female dominated with a female and male CEO. My boss and her boss are both female. I barely have to talk to a male and this bullshit just doesn't exist. It really bothers me that women are just happily getting on in leadership positions with great success and then people try to belittle them with these terms. Not cool.
