There's a thread about Ting, Bowers and a couple of other SRS surgeons over at the fruit farm.

Includes lots of first-hand accounts of aftercare etc from their patients.

It's pretty gruesome reading Sad

Oh I really wish I hadn't gone farming Sad Envy

Article today from Megan Murphy about the Canadian C-6 bill that means all school children will be taught their parents 'chose' their sex and their gender identity might be different from that. It will be illegal to do anything but affirm this narrative.

I had no idea how often these surgeries were botched. I knew that the dilation regime was difficult to sustain and there could be serious complications but it hadn't occurred to me that the doctors would refuse to answer calls and that patients had no recourse. I thought the doctors wanted the best for their patients, however shaky I find their ideological reasoning.

This is a disaster.

There have already been a handful of xx women who have had uterine transplants and as twaw it is discriminatory if they are refused the procedure as they too suffer from AUFI (absolute uterine factor infertility)

I wonder why a transwoman might not be born with a uterus?

nauticant · 23/11/2020 19:54

The key thing to understand is that the surgeries for males fall into two types, surgery carried out on males who have been through an undisrupted puberty, and this is the more established practice with more knowledge about likely outcomes, and surgery carried out on young males who have been puberty blocked. It's this latter group which is the most experimental stuff of all with surgeons making it up for each new patient that goes under the knife. It's also this latter group where, arguably, you can say the consent obtained is the least informed.

Just to expand upon this for those who haven't been farming, the reason it's so experimental for these puberty blocked males is because their penises haven't grown.

So there is not enough flesh to turn inside out to create a "Neo vagina" and they have to add stomach lining or colon, which, as you can imagine, isn't ideal.

The fact that this child abuse is not only tolerated but applauded via shows such as I Am Jazz is utterly horrifying. Future generations will look back on this in the same way we look back at Romans putting babies in jars.

I think also one of the options was also a tissue expander in the scrotum.

The hormones are also experimental.

Sharron Davis said on a FILIA podcast that she knows East German athletes who died prematurely, who were also given testosterone.

We know that female bodies need oestrogen - that is why you get HRT if you have premature menopause, because otherwise your chances are increased for cardiovascular disease, dementia and osteoporosis.

The whole thing needs a medical ethics examination.

The phrase “wrong puberty” is outrageous on so many levels but it’s the only justification I’ve seen for this type of intervention on pre-adolescent children.
How long before we’re told it was only a metaphor?

tackiestones · 24/11/2020 12:07

Back in my 20s when I was questioning my identity and all that I wondered if being a trans man would solve my problems. The thing that stopped me was the knowledge that high doses of testosterone is harmful to the female body and surgical options are horrendous for females. So I made my peace and desisted by my 30s.

It’s a public health disaster that young people and their parents aren’t aware of the likely consequences of these experimental procedures.

Why aren’t the press asking that classic question: who benefits?

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 24/11/2020 12:50

An investigative journalist who spent time tracking the money for all this stuff would have a cracking piece and win all the awards and save a shed load of misery.

They'd have to get it published in The Times, of course.

Delayed puberty can actually be the sign of one of many quite severe problems/illnesses/diseases

The idea we would willingly inflict the symptoms of something so serious onto a healthy body, when anyone else would be seeking medical attention is astounding.

tackiestones · 24/11/2020 16:38

And all the brain development that only happens in puberty, how can that be ok to skip? It’s not just the loss of sexual and reproductive function, they’re not going to be fully developed mentally either. That’s absolutely horrendous.

TackyTriceratops · 24/11/2020 18:07

Just googled this person and all I get are bikini clad posturing pics. Confused

It is why I feel that even social transitioning can fix children onto a path that takes them down a medical route. How difficult it must be to U turn from 'I'm definitely the opposite sex, I was born in the wrong body' to 'I now realise I just needed time to come to terms with the way puberty changed my body/the way I feel about myself and how I fit in the world'. Especially if everyone has told you how stunning and brave you and your family are for being/ allowing you to be your authentic self etc.

Social media and fame certainly cement this narrative in a very chilling way.

I do query where they and the world will be in 20 years.
