"People with vaginas"? So can we also say "people with penises"?

@PurpleHoodie

No. Males do not, and can not have effective vaginas.

Nor a clitoros.

Or vulva.

They may have a cut up and inverted penis. But none of the womens reproductive system.

OK, I think you understand what I mean but are saying that you think I'm wrong. That's fine. I will stop trying to explain my meaning further though!
PurpleHoodie · 03/11/2020 18:25

And it is not "Women AND Transmen".

Transmen are a part of the Women catagory.

Hence UK laws on Primogenture.

@ContessaDiPulpo

I don't even understand the people with vaginas thing. You can construct a vagina surgically so females or males can have them Confused
Whilst I disagree that surgical constructed gaps are in anyway similar to a vagina, I am sure transideologues will agree with Contessa and take ‘people with a vagina’ to mean men who may or may not have had cosmetic surgery. They can’t possibly allow women to have any word of their own or any way to describe themselves that excludes men.
ContessaDiPulpo · 03/11/2020 19:26

I will clarify that I don't think a vagina is the same as a surgically constructed gap. However, that's the language being used by the woke. Therefore 'people with vaginas' is unsatisfactory as it doesn't please anybody Confused

One transgender woman who doesn’t present as female all the time “because it isn’t practical for work”. Blew my fucking mind, desperately wanted to know which parts of working in IT aren’t practical for females

That would be the payscale.....

TeenVogue’s readership = 95% adult men, and TeenVogue sexualises pubescent girls.

Fuck me! Is that true? (Both bits)

CaraDuneRedux · 04/11/2020 12:33

@twoglassesofprosecco

The original tweet has "virginity" in quotes. Why? Do Teen Vogue and the NHS not believe in virginity? Is it a silly concept?
Yes, it is a silly concept - I'll give them that much.

It's a patriarchal social construct tied up with concepts of ownership and purity. For a start, the hymen really doesn't work the way myths about virginity would have you believe (there's a good TED talk on this by a couple of women medics). If it's about "first sexual experience" why weight first PIV? What if you're lesbian? Why not first orgasm? What about the ghastly Fundy Christian thing in parts of America where girls have anal sex so they can save their "vaginal virginity" for the wedding night (see Garfunkel and Oates the Loophole - the "sex that God can't see")?

But they can fuck right off with the "vagina havers" nonsense.
