Cheating arseholes. I hear there's an egg and spoon race they can enter.

RozWatching · 14/10/2020 19:31

That's sarcasm btw - since people seem to have missed the sarcasm in my earlier post about Joanna "I measured a whole 8 of my mates and it was all fine" Harper

I don't think anyone on here missed it Grin

I keep seeing that bloody paper and the IOC being cited on Twitter by wokebeards. It's infuriating.

ArabellaScott · 14/10/2020 19:37

I haven't rtft.

There should be an awareness raising campaign to spell out all the risks very clearly. There's plenty of evidence - I do feel that women and girls may think that this move by RFU implies there are no dangers and that somehow males will be magically rendered harmless by dint of the gender magic. Could they be informed, in very clear and simple terms, pointed to the evidence, somehow?

Quadzilla · 14/10/2020 19:56

Like a Save Women’s Sport campaign? Like the one in America

I'm also going to ask Eddie Jones what he thinks. I can't imagine him or any other sane male rugby player agreeing with it.

MerchedCymru · 14/10/2020 20:04

Statement by Merched Cymru on twitter:
twitter.com/MerchedCymru/status/1316424181756710912

It includes the following, compelling data.
'Research shows that even if transwomen lower their testosterone to the recommended level, they retain the physical advantages that going through male puberty confers.
The lifelong mass, weight and speed differential between males and females is stark; biological males are stronger by 25% to 50%, are 30% more powerful, 40% heavier, and about 15% faster than biological females.'

We're awaiting the WRU response having given evidence (as if they needed any more) to the consultation. LGBT Sport Cymru were there apparently ignoring the 'L' in their title. StonewallCymru doing the same. And the Cardiff Gay Men's Rugby team came out in support of their fellows. Women and girls simply don't matter it seems.

Kit19 · 14/10/2020 20:08

I wouldn’t hold your breath Merch :(

Welsh sport is even woker than English

“Folding like a deckchair” TW plays in wales, the former zach now Emily bridges also fully supported by welsh cycling & one of the former welsh hockey players was ranting on about the unfairness world rugby decision (welsh hockey is v woke)

littlbrowndog · 14/10/2020 20:09

Imagine me playing in junior sports because I felt like I was a junior

What is wrong with these men

HecatesCats · 14/10/2020 20:10

Yes. This is a highly organised strategic campaign to capture sporting bodies in the UK, it's going to need very vocal organised sport specific opposition and legal action to change the course of the juggernaut.
ilheartjennimurray · 14/10/2020 20:34

For some time I've been trying to persuade my daughter to join the local girl's rugby team, her best friend recently joined and I think I was nearly there.
I've just stopped as of today, and now I would not let her play rugby as it is effectively a mixed sex sport.
These are the consequences, girls are losing opportunities and rights, which they've only barely just gained in recent years.

BaronessWrongCrowd · 14/10/2020 20:43

I'm so fed up of women and girls being put last. Not just sports but everything.

TheFleegleHasLanded · 14/10/2020 20:47

Thanks to @CUPWomensPledge for putting this list together on Twitter.

If you tweet, tell the sponsors of England Rugby what you think:

I know Kit19

Cycling in the UK is appallingly sexist in every way and at every level. And I don't think Welsh Rugby really cares one way or another if women play. But hope springs eternal until it doesn't.

WarOnWomen · 14/10/2020 21:32

Do you think it's worth starting a petition for people to sign against RFU's decision?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/10/2020 21:52

Don't think a petition will have any effect. I think the only thing that will actually work is men refusing to play.

CandyLeBonBon · 14/10/2020 21:57

Thanks to the pps directing me to current tw players.

I just read this:

"They don't half make you cry," she says. "My body shape, my size... it's scary the massive difference it makes. I don't think I'll ever get used to hormones."
At nearly 6ft she stands out among her team-mates, and club captain Jessica Minty-Madley recounts a time she folded an opponent "like a deckchair*

Ffs. What a sexist crock of utter fucking bullshit.

littlbrowndog · 14/10/2020 22:06

So kids in rugby are segregated at age 12 by sex. But then if you id as a woman no safety concerns.

How does that work 🤨🤨

OldCrone · 14/10/2020 22:14

And this Candy

Brian Minty, who founded the team four years ago, says: "I've always taken rugby as a totally inclusive sport and we're happy to welcome Kelly to the club.

He can't resist a joke, though, adding: "She's going to be a good, good player for the next few years, as long as we can stop her injuring players in training."

They know male players will injure women, but they just think it's funny.

I hope this is all being fucking noted because when this eventually surfaces as a lawsuit, that comment will miraculously disappear.

I'm so so so angry about all this.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 14/10/2020 22:33

Dh just said about transwomen being in the olympics and what people would say

I said that if these sports bodies thought for one second that men would be annoyed at a male bodied person winning the womens 100 mtr sprint than they wouldn’t do this

But the sports bodies know that 99% of men do not give a shiny shit if males win every fucking womens race

Thats. a. fucking. fact.

CandyLeBonBon · 14/10/2020 22:35

@RufustheSniggeringReindeer
Yep.

NotBadConsidering · 14/10/2020 22:49

Yes the BBC article about Kelly initially had a bit in about Kelly breaking a limb, then they edited it and removed that part.

Fuckers. All of them. The RFU, the BBC, all of them.

ilheartjennimurray · 14/10/2020 23:11

I am so angry that women’s sports are being destroyed. I’ve just donated to FairPlay for Women and it was a (tiny) relief to be able to actually do something.

Vargas · 14/10/2020 23:18

What an absolute bloody disgrace. Who is in charge of safeguarding at the RFU and how can they sleep at night?

ilheartjennimurray · 14/10/2020 23:31

Of the list of sponsors of England Rugby, Guinness has form for listening to women’s concerns for women’s safety. When Paddy Jackson (acquitted of rape in the horrific Belfast Ulster rugby trial) was signed for London Irish, I along with many others objected to the sponsors - which included Guinness - and Guinness quite quickly withdrew their long running sponsorship from London Irish rugby club.
