BraveBananaBadge - early eps of It's Always Sunny (a programme about absolutely terrible people) from the mid-00s. had a character referred to as 'the Tr*nny', and the creators have since said they wouldn't have written it that way now. Things change, the attitudes of writers and makers change. Look at Little Britain and Matt Lucas.

Am now wondering if C4 would/have plled 'misfits'. Never watched that at the time, but finished it a couple of days back and remember thinking at a fair few episodes how they would cause riots today. One that fits with the thread a bit, a storyline of a transman stealing one of the characters cocks. I know that sounds weird to anyone who hasnt seen it (or maybe has, it WAS weird, but most of the show was!), said transman was referred to as she throughout, with manginas made to take the piss and such also.

I think there is a lot of truth in that transwomen are 'comedy characters' a fair bit, and I do get why that would piss them off. Its the same with a lot of groups though, sadly, comedy is often (mainly?!) about taking the piss out of someone somewhere along the way.

Its currently on netflix, thats how I watched it. I found it a little odd, given I thought netflix did some huge clearout of 'offensive' stuff, and while a lot of it was really funny IMO it clearly could be massively offensive to pretty much any group at one stage or another!

You may as well call Cadburys out for 'cancelling' the Spira bar because they decided not to sell it anymore.

And many many thanks for this. Now I am craving them for fucks sake and no doubt the only way to get them is pay really stupid money (was looking for ricicles the other day..30 quid a box ). Mind, if they came back, no doubt it would be like the wispa, which they still claim is unchanged but its barefaced lies!

This is my favourite IT Crowd episode ever (or possibly it's the one with the disabled toilet scene, where the whole episode had me weeping with laughter).

The Internet is just brilliant. Gutted they've removed it as was going to show it to my teenage ds (who is obsessed with the internet, as per teenagers) any day now. We have all the DVDs but well-watched, so have to find it and hope it's been put back in the right box.

The transwoman bit is also very funny, and you'd have to be pretty bloody po-faced to find it unfunny.

Graham, if you're reading this, THANK YOU for improving my life so much. Genuinely my favourite series. You are a genius.

Independent comments are rather obviously fake and fixed - bear in mind who owns the Independent.

Views on the Independent may represent maybe your views if you live in Wokeingham, Woking, Woke Central.

But they are certainly not mainstream majority views.
