Because I find it highly amusing if they are. Thanks for the funding Grin

Is Stonewall advertising on Mumsnet?

Also I’ve never seen anyone dispute that trans people are human, and therefore have human rights.

Why is this phrase used as a kind of ‘gotcha’?

Never understood their use of that slogan. They have human rights ffs.

ThinEndoftheWedge · 23/09/2020 14:24

But I love the way they use pink and blue to break down corrosive gender stereotypes.

Oh no wait...!

Kazakaren · 23/09/2020 14:25

That's very funny if they are actually putting their adverts over here.. Trans people do have human rights. Of course they do. No one ever disputed that.
Transwomen don't have women's sex based rights though. They can't self ID into women's rights. They need that GRC first, and there's a process to go through for that. Even then there are times they will be will be excluded from sex based exemptions. The law clarified that just yesterday 👍

It's a very clever phrase. Because then by querying some of the things that Trans Activists claim are "trans rights" you therefore seem to be opposing human rights. And not many people are keen to say that they don't believe in human rights. And you're saying that trans people aren't human - again not many people are keen to say something that dehumanises someone.

As a slogan itself it doesn't seem to have a logical meaning within itself.

One of my HUGE bugbears is how little the phrase WOMEN's RIGHTS is used. Hardly ever.

highame · 23/09/2020 14:31

www.spectator.co.uk/article/why-i-m-glad-the-government-rejected-gender-self-id- Debbie Hayton talks about how protected she is with the current legislation. Good article

GirlOnTheEdgeOfThePark · 23/09/2020 14:31

The pink and blue makes me feel ill. Hate all that rubbish.

Kantastic · 23/09/2020 14:37

What kind of ability to profile/track users does Stonewall acquire from advertising on Mumsnet?

I feel like I should know something about this but I really don't.

BovaryX · 23/09/2020 14:58

Exactly. It is a carefully crafted slogan. The only response it elicits is obedient chanting. How could anyone question it? Bigot. Its aim is silence and compliance.

LizzieSiddal · 23/09/2020 14:59

The pink and blue makes me feel ill.

Same here, it's just horrible and regressive.

Kazakaren · 23/09/2020 15:24

Hmm. Interesting question. And one I know very little about. @MNHQ

Escapeplanning · 23/09/2020 15:28

It's not a clever slogan at all, it's pathetic.

ArabellaScott · 23/09/2020 16:31

This witch is delighted that Stonewall are hanging out on Mumsnet. Welcome, all!

(And yes, I'd be a wee bit careful about clicking on that link. I mean, I just wouldn't.)

ErrolTheDragon · 23/09/2020 16:37

Do they bother having a 'gay rights are human rights' one nowadays?

SophocIestheFox · 23/09/2020 16:41

That’s weirdly tickled me. I shall do much clicking around MN and imagine each fraction of a pence draining away from Stonewalls coffers and into Mumsnets Grin

HopeClearwater · 23/09/2020 16:52

I’ve seen this today too. Why? Do they pay MN?

Worldgonecrazy · 23/09/2020 17:12

Do they pay extra for click throughs? Would be great to get confirmation as it would be a good way to get funds from those who would try to shut down Mumsnet

KatVonlabonk · 23/09/2020 17:16

Bless them. They do fail to understand that as adult (human females) we really don't mind.

Roll on the funding for mumsnet !

Binglebong · 23/09/2020 17:17

I spotted that too. Grin

I don't know the individual set up of course but with paid for links they usually can see what you went on to do: how long you stay on the page, where you clicked after, if you made purchases etc. Companies such as mumsnet use that info to show it's not a pointless click, that people using the link result in sales or info read so they can provide evidence it's worth the money. I'm not aware of anyone getting email or IP addresses and I would be surprised if that happens.

SoManyActivities · 23/09/2020 17:18

The trans flag really does sum up the regressive, sexist nature of trans ideology doesn't it?

It's right there on their flag - pink for a girl, blue for a boy!

How is it progressive?

TheGreatWave · 23/09/2020 18:23

Hang on, I thought that MN was a cesspool of transphobia and that any company advertising on the platform was therefore transphobic and should distance themselves, otherwise the company would be boycotted and have to deal with a lot of emails.

Come on then, start giving Stonewall the same treatment as the GMB union, it is only right and fair to do so.

BlackForestCake · 23/09/2020 18:30

You have seen the “new” flag, right? It’s the gay lib (hopefully it's still OK to say gay lib) rainbow but with a sort of arrow made of brown, black, pink and blue stripes coming in from the left, and then there's some left over white space. Supposedly it represents BAME people and trans people who are supposedly marginalised in the LGB movement.

Someone cuttingly described this as a graphic illustration: white men, who love sex stereotypes, hiding behind black and brown people to attack lesbians and gay men.

BlueJay99 · 23/09/2020 20:33

Even their basic advertising lacks any proper thought. Can they really be this oblivious.

SunsetBeetch · 23/09/2020 20:35

Has Haddock given them a lecture on twitter yet? That I'd love to see.
