Has anyone seen the videos going around with LOL dolls, I've just watched one and can't believe it.

If you put them in cold water, lingerie appears. One doll even had a devil tail tattoo on her lower back.

Why would they include this on little girl toys

Yeah, the colour change is like those Barbies (or other dolls? my memory fails me) years ago where you could put them in water and their make-up would appear.

Stuff like this makes me feel a little cray though, I see all these people going on on FB about not believing conspiracy theories, and then you see all this weird shit that is real and absolutely sounds like a conspiracy theory.

TBH it is an interesting discussion and it has it's merits. Mainly because even without the colour change the names and outfits of some of the dolls are quite inappropriate to begin with.

And some of the colour changes are definitely inappropriate and just no need. It's just not a conspiracy or something "hidden" if that makes sense.

Goosefoot - I sometimes think there's a middle ground somewhere better unreal and conspiracy theory. I guess there's a bit of truth somewhere and then it gets exaggerated into a full conspiracy

We have some colour change ones - not water ones but temperature ones and they don’t have this inappropriate lingerie on - they just get “gloves” or stripy tights.

Just realised my post might need explanation - the pizza slice is a reference to "Pizzagate" which is a bizarre American conspiracy theory about child trafficking. The conspiracy theorists have created an association between pizza references and child porn.

@Kantastic there's no such thing as 'child porn'. It's indecent images of children.

Good question about whether the pic was faked up with magic marker.

The link to the mix.net was the first one which came up on an internet search - but I have to say it doesn't look like the most reputable source ever. A bit Sunday Sport from the looks of it. So the pic may be a fake and all the real ones do is reveal stripy socks.

On the other hand the Hasbro troll doll does appear to have been real.

I've checked all of DDs and none have sexy undies or devil tails, some do change colours, their hair, freckles appear, they may change legging colours or get a one piece swimsuit but nothing overtly sexy.

It's very much advertised on the packaging that they may change colour in hot or cold water or they may spit, cry or wee when dunked. It's part of the 'surprise' in the LOL surprise.

I don't love the things, they are an environmental disaster and ugly little buggers but DD and all her friends think they're brilliant and DD will play with hers for ages, dressing them up and acting out trips away with them in her Playmobil plane or moving them around her dolls house.

Different dolls do different things ThisMustBeMyDream so it’s not marker just there is one set that has underwear showing after being dipped in water, others pee or spit. I asked DD to show me the instructions to her one doll and she noticed that it’s not all dolls.

That thread really bugs me, mostly because of anti semitism, blaming Obama,the religious overtones and the vilification of poop related toys.

No idea if it was real or not,but the comments made me really uncomfortable.

On the snopes page, the one with the BDSM type outfit is obviously drawn on with marker pen. It has that crappy faded look.
