" Black Cis Women are destroying the black community"

Don't give this person views, I saw this on lipstick alley and I just need to vent.

Here's cliffs of the video from LSA and I'll add my thoughts-

"-He feels that black women shouldn’t be homophobic or transphobic because their in the same category as trans-women. @3:34

-Thinks that black women are at the bottom of the totem pole of society.

-Debunks that trans-women are checking for straight men but straight men are checking for them. @4:18

-Black women shouldn’t bring up their reproductive organs in order to validate their womanhood. @5:13

-It’s anti-black to exclude black trans-women. @7:56
Doesn’t really explain how black women are destroying the black community."

I'm tired. I wish they'd leave black women out of this. This video is literally a jealous gay male, upset that no one believes the men who fuck him are straight.
This all comes down to them thinking black women are masculine or the same as transwomen, hoping if they push this narrative then ACTUAL straight men will want to be with them openly.

It's not about racism, it's not about "Womanhood", it's not about the issues in the trans community.
They are addressing women instead of their fellow brothers because they want to bully us and fuck the men.
They know that their brothers won't allow this. Funny how this person's number 1 enemy are men, yet all this focus on BW?

I've been noticing a lot of loud anti-black women shit online, from both TW and TRA's.
I guess they feel like they can bully us better. I'm telling you, if the people these people wanted to fuck, did so proudly they'd give two shits about "Womanhood" "Feminism" and "TERFS".

This person does not want to be accepted as a woman, they want to be accepted as some "Straight" guys partner. Again, this is a MALE problem.

Black women aren't stopping men from wanting to date you guys openly. Im focusing on the "Straight" shit, because this is what this is about.
I'm not dumb, this person is jealous of black women because of men. Period. Everything else is scary buzzwords, hoping we'll get in line.

I've seen this IRL and online from transwomen. They'll even pull the, "if black women dated men who dated transwomen it'd help stopping violence against transwomen"

I'm so over it. A lot of this shit comes down to sex.

Transactovism is honestly some of the most racist garbage I've come across. Everything from not giving a shit that women of colour are disproportionately excluded by services becoming mixed sex because of religious and cultural reasons, to outright saying black women look like men. Its revolting. How anyone buying into this has the nerve to call themselves "intersectional" is beyond me.

Kantastic · 12/07/2020 19:02

Flowers to the black women who have to hear this shit.

I hate that we've imported this horribleness from America, the first I ever heard of this insane notion that black women are "masculine" or unattractive was when I saw American black women discussing it online, and I was so bewildered.

It's horrible that TRAs (and various too-online incel creeps) compare you to men. It's 100% passive-aggressive spite. They're pretending to express solidarity while sticking the knife in. They're absolute bastards.

Also just for anyone who needs to hear this, it isn't true, even a little bit.

What's worse is the original use of the term "intersectional feminism" was to expressly identity where women who are doubly oppressed fall between the gaps.

The original study I believe referenced a court case in the US motor industry re: black women being underpaid and the manufacturers defence (that won) was to cite equivalence with the employment of white women and black men - thus disregarding the "intersection" of being a black woman.

Happy to be corrected on the above and the original study cited.

Vodkacranberryplease · 12/07/2020 19:08

Fucking hell just when you thought it couldn't get worse.... it does! Whether

FancyPants20 · 12/07/2020 19:17

Where TF does this idea come from that black women are manly? I've only ever seen it in relation to Michelle Obama, but I thought that was due to her height and physique, rather than her blackness. (I'm 5'11" and a fine strapping young lass myself, so have often been I'm manly by insecure arseholes.)
Black women come in all shapes and sizes, same as women of any other skin colour, so wtf is manly about being black?
(Obviously, I know it's just a racist slur, I'm just bewildered as to why.)

Vodkacranberryplease · 12/07/2020 19:35

I'm sick of the whole trans conversation being about women. We are white Karen's or we are culturally appropriating and now this latest potshot at black women.

There was Jonathan yanniv targeting immigrant salon owners (Sikh mostly I believe) and jk Rowling snd it just goes on and on and on.

What about men? Surely they must be doing things wrong?

I didn't watch the vid. I couldn't. What an appalling piece of racist misogynistic shit - and yet a women who says that trans women are not biological woman is cancelled. Ffs. The hatred of women by men just goes on and on and on. Down to new lows.

Vodkacranberryplease · 12/07/2020 19:39

Where the fuck are the woke brigade now? This is just so dreadful. No woman should have to hear this shit - they couldn't get black women on 'priviledge' so this is what they dredge up instead. Talk about dropping the mask.

quixote9 · 13/07/2020 08:52

I haven't even read the whole thread, and all I can think is "Christ. I'm agreeing with Dubya Bush." That time after the inaugural when he apparently said, "That was some weird shit."

This is really really really weird shit. Maybe it was a bad idea to close the mental hospitals!

Plus laying trips like that on black women. :barf: There oughta be a law.

Aesopfable · 13/07/2020 09:26

I had never heard of the 'black women are like men' before - only the opposite of black women as the original mother - Eve.

Does this go back to slavery which happened when women were treated differently? I could see it being said then that 'black women are not like white women who need to be looked after, they can work like black men'?

MoltenLasagne · 13/07/2020 09:34

The "black women are like men" shit is just the usual combination of racism and sexism thrown at black women.

As for the claim that black women are destroying the black community, that shit gets thrown all the time whether its for being single mothers, having too many or too few children, partnering with the wrong man, having standards, having boundaries, being too demanding of men whilst simultaneously not being demanding enough, wanting to live a decent life without the prior approval of men. Let's add "somehow responsible yet again for the actions of black men but this time to do with transwomen" on to that list shall we?

Needmoresleep · 13/07/2020 10:18

I fear that a chunk of this gender shit is based on an exaggerated idea of European, blond-hair, blue eyes femininity. Princesses, mermainds, and jellybabies. A sort of male (not all men obviously) view of an idealised woman.

This does not leave much space for gender diversity amongst women. Not everyone want to dress like Pips Bunce.

It leaves even less space for powerful and graceful women such as Serena Williams or Simone Biles.

By focusing on gender rather than sex, and attempting to define feminity, the TRA movement is at minimum skirting on the borders of racism.

Vodkacranberryplease · 13/07/2020 11:25

@Needmoresleep at minimum??? There's no 'at minimum' here this is out and out racism! I am gobsmacked this is even being said in public! Not having a go at all I'm just so outraged that this crap is being said and that s a my one even tolerated it!

It's just so wrong. I'm so sorry that black women have to hear this shit, it's disgusting. I know it's no consolation that they hate all women - but they do. We are Karen's or anti trans if we don't think trans women with sex offender profiles should be in refuges/prisons. It's sick.

Deciding how women should look and what is 'womanly' is as old as time. And we all buy into our own version of it but for a man to go into a public platform and say this is just fucking outrageous.

What we all need to understand as women is how did the TRA get so much power and how do we get this shut down?

The only good thing I can think of is that this is such a blatant overstep of the mark there might be some reeling in of these people as a result. BLM vs TRA. I know whose side I am on and I know who has more power not to mention the weight of actually being right.

Needmoresleep · 13/07/2020 11:53

Vodka, I have been on this board too long. Hence the cautious language. Which does not mean that I don’t agree with you.

Though white and British, my lockdown diversion has been to lurk on the Lipstick Alley Harry and Meghan threads. There are plenty of bright, funny and articulate posters who read California girls better than I do. As much as anything I enjoy the different perspective.

The LSA GC threads cover the ‘what is feminine’ issue often in similar terms to yours. Defining femininity in a blond hair, blue eyes sort of way is frustrating for most women, few of whom meet the stereotype. Defining femininity in European terms is racist.

Women, adult human females, should not be defined by men, and should celebrate their wonderful diversity.

Vodkacranberryplease · 13/07/2020 16:32

@Needmoresleep well said! Why should any of us put up with this kind of pigeonholing?

And making a rant just about women doesn't make it not racist. I probably do meet the stereotype in many ways and quite frankly I'm not ok with other women having to put up with this shit and am certainly not interested in the men who do it.

ZombieLizzieBennet · 15/07/2020 12:51

Horrible misogynoir. Far too many TRAs treat black women with a vast sense of entitlement.

DrDavidBanner · 15/07/2020 13:19

Jesus, what fuckery have I just watched?

Are we supposed to take people like that seriously?

FWRLurker · 15/07/2020 13:33

“the majority of BTW are looking for men and them being trans is linked to homphobia, whereas WTW often identify as lesbians because they are basically hetero men. I thought it was an interesting observation.“

Indeed interesting.

Even more interesting is that it is the fault of women that men won’t date BTW, and it is also the fault of women that lesbians won’t date WTW. Hmm
