This is absolute madness.

@Haleeloo

Meaning? I’m sorry, are women with different opinions to the majority thread not allowed to express opinions on mumsnet? I wasn’t aware of this rule. Since you’re wondering, born with a womb and vagina and all that Jazz.
You do know that a womb isn’t a necessary part of being female, yes?

I suspect that the problem here is similar to what happened with Asda

The directors and senior managers at these corporations want to express solidarity with sexual minorities (and to be seen to express such solidarity), a noble aspiration of course.

Via diversity training and various consultancies they appoint staff in their HR and PR departments to help them to achieve their goals in this respect.

Various cultists and pro-paedophile networks, including sex cults, continue with their (it has to be said ancient and long established) tradition of using Trojan horses in the form of human assets to prepare the ground for infiltration.

When the links to these sinister networks is uncovered, as happened with Asda, there are red faces and smacked botties all round in the relevant HR and PR diversity departments.

Of course the other horrible consequence is that when these nasty networks are uncovered it can cause a pendulum swing to the far right and generate a homophobic and anti-minority backlash. This last issue is one of the reasons why people from sexual minorities should be at the forefront of exposing this appalling situation. IMO

To all those mentioning Kids Company I can only agree

So many disturbing things about Kids Company were never reported and the whole thing seemed to be swept under the carpet.

We have to make sure that it doesn't happen this time round

I was always suspicious about KC - it’s like I could see the emperor was naked. It smelled all wrong - and I knew people who worked for it and they were genuinely lovely and committed people (although a bit sensitive/trusting). It felt like a cult of personality/naive saviour complex.

I wasn’t ‘happy’ that it fell apart but relieved that it was stopped.

Phew, because you seemed to imply it did.

The definition of sex in the U.K. law is a combo of chromosomes, gonads, gametes and genitals.

fucksake. I'm really glad that I weaned my household off supermarkets during lockdown (my hatred of queuing is probably unpatriotic or something, but it transcends nationality or indeed rationality.) We get those meal boxes with recipes delivered, which is infinitely more fun than grocery shopping and is making us better cooks, and also local organic veg boxes once a fortnight, and get a lot of staples at the Asian supermarket where they are cheaper and better quality.

Screw you, Tesco. Supermarket lighting gives me a headache anyway, it's been a huge improvement in my life to avoid them.
