What relevance does a drag queen have to small kids?

We all watched Lily Savage on Blankety Blank growing up, didn't do us any harm!

I don't remember Lily Savage going into schools to read to nursery age children though? The whole act, with the smutty jokes, was definitely aimed at adults.

Lily Savage was very funny, very sharp and aimed at adults. The persona she bought was edged but only by TV standards. Had she had a social media account making jokes about child sex abuse in nightclubs and using cartoons to make jokes about getting ‘ur hole destroyed’ at an orgy then they wouldn’t have lasted.

If you remember, this is the woman who stood up and denounced the managed prostitution zone and called for the Nordic Model, who organised the sex based rights conference in the council building and made the speech that went viral, who got WPUK into the civic hall a year after they were banned at the last minute and received threats, investigations and abuse for months, including reports to West Yorkshire police for hate crimes.

Much of this was when she was fighting a brutal cancer battle.

On what grounds? the event was clearly inappropriate, and there are major safeguarding questions to be answered about the photos on his social media etc.

Just to be clear, those memes posted upthread are not from Aida's personal page, they are from the same page that Aida advertises themselves as a children's story reader! What the fuck?! Sorry I just wanted to make that clear, as I thought they might be from their 'adult' page or something.

The thing is, and I have said this before - it's not even necessarily that any of these people have sinister intentions themselves (although if you did, wouldn't the 'untouchable' umbrella of LGBT+ be ever so handy?). But someone who has such little knowledge of children and safeguarding that they don't even know that you can't put sexualised content on the social media page you use to advertise yourself as a children's entertainer/story reader really shouldn't be having contact with kids! Especially not council sanctioned work!

Can you imagine this happening in any other arena? If you looked on your local kids entertainer FB page whilst looking for someone to book for your child's party, and there were sexually explicit memes on there? If you were looking for a tutor for your child and there was that kind of stuff on their FB page?!

Bad news, I’m afraid. I just got a notification that the Event is still going ahead? It seems like he edited it, so that it’s no longer a Leeds Libraries event; it’s a Drag Queen Story Hour Event. But guess what the Event Page says?

I was quite disturbed by this appearing on my timeline from Bristol Libraries a few weeks ago. I'm glad I wasn't the only one, and that others felt it inappropriate and sinister too. My toddler will not ebe watching.

Sarah Field is such a legend - she is constantly fighting an uphill battle against the woke and misogynists in Leeds. I'd say I can't believe what they've done but I very much can.
