You're all brilliant

Just that really. You have sown the seeds with so many, and helped people understand the issues in great detail. You have inspired people to take action and supported people under attack. You inspired me to take my small action (the Jo Swinson woman call) and many others to chip away at this harmful ideology. It's been a tough few days with JK Rowling but this Times headline gives me hope. Huge thank you to you all,
Anna x

FWR helped me unpack my voice.

I was definitely a fish who didn’t notice she was swimming in water, and while I sometimes don’t like what I ‘see’ now, or realise about my past, I’m happier not being blind, deaf, and not so quiet as I once was.

I miss so many of our fallen, but still find joy in just listening to the unquiet female voices here. It’s a relief and balm.

Thank you all Flowers

Yes, It’s so encouraging to know that the fabulous women and allies trying to protect the most basic rights of women wouldn’t be giving up even if there was no progress, but much more so when we can see some progress, even if it’s baby steps that they’ll try to push us back on.
KEEP PUUULLLLING!!! IT’S MOVING!!!!!!!

TorchesTorches · 15/06/2020 12:39

I echo the thanks here. The exchange of views here, the sharing and the educating have been amazing and humbling and truly transformative. Actually the word transformative is an interesting one ! I do feel that the information on here has changed me and how I think. Thank you all.

Thelnebriati · 15/06/2020 12:45

I'd like to add my thanks. Flowers
And to say that AFAIK this forum is unique, there isn't another group like this anywhere else in the world.
Thats a sobering thought. Keep it going, everyone.

LillianBland · 15/06/2020 12:46

Yes, I want to add my thanks. I remember a certain person coming on Mumsnet to ask what everyone thought of h* dress and I didn’t see why other posters were so rude to h* voice. That was before I knew about AGP, cross dressers and every other male bodied person that were using the trans umbrella to hide under, while they abused and bullied the actual transsexuals. Thank you for helping me realise the risk posed to every single woman’s rights, due to the manipulation of organisations.

IM0GEN · 15/06/2020 12:48

@ScrimpshawTheSecond

Yes, you are. Thank you, women of FWR. And thank you Mumsnet.
This.
MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 15/06/2020 12:51

Adding my thanks too. Mostly a lurker, but so grateful to all the powerful, lucid, patient, angry women on FWR for waking me up.

littlbrowndog · 15/06/2020 12:58

Yeah I would not have had a clue apart from the brilliant women here

Gave me a voice

So miss Lang

Thanks mumsnet as well. For letting us have a voice

langkaw · 15/06/2020 13:03

Oh agreed. I was knee jerk woke about this at the beginning. Then I read and read and employed my critical thinking skills. Thank you for this.

ThinEndoftheWedge · 15/06/2020 13:20

Like other posters - thank you.

I already had my opinions-but you helped distil and develop them.

I type in awe of the brilliant, witty and determined women on this board.Flowers

ThinEndoftheWedge · 15/06/2020 13:21

Thank you Justine and Mumsnet. FlowersDaffodil

NoraEphronsneck · 15/06/2020 13:39

Will add my thanks to everyone to. We've achieved a lot but definitely need to keep pressure up.

I'd always felt uneasy about the whole situation but more knowledgeable people on here explained exactly how and why I was feeling that way.

And have armed me with enough information to go out into real life and discuss the issue with confidence.

HerewardTheWoke · 15/06/2020 13:55

OP, are you "Anna from Warwickshire" who took down Jo Swinson? You're a shero! I wanted so much to thank you at the time

Newuser123123 · 15/06/2020 15:47

Yes I am, thank you that's so kind xx

I’d like to add my thanks too. Mostly lurker on various posts, I feel like I’ve only skimmed the information but all I’ve read has been enough to open my eyes to what is happening. I had to switch off media this past week, I’ve reported every post on FB demonizing JKR, it’s so so clear now.

Thank you

OvaHere · 15/06/2020 16:02

That was a great moment. Well done Anna!

That was blinding. 💐
TheYellowOfTheEgg · 15/06/2020 16:10

I never really thought about these issues until I started reading the FWR threads on here. They've been great.

RuffleCrow · 15/06/2020 16:15

Well done everyone. You know in the Mousehole Cat where the stormcat starts up and they look back to the harbour, which is lit up with hundreds of tiny lanterns to guide them home? Well, that's how I think of the feminists of Mumsnet. And to any T/MRAs whose childhoods i've just 'ruined': I DON'T CARE!!!

JackiFazaki · 15/06/2020 16:30

Thank you courageous women Flowers

Newuser123123 · 15/06/2020 16:43

Thank you @Datun and @OvaHere x

I just wanted to add my thanks to all the patient, articulate, brilliant women who post here and to Mumsnet for giving them the space to do it.
I wouldn't have known about this issue without you. I did a lot of reading, and watching and listening. And then I started speaking up in small ways. And challenging and complaining. Emails and letters. Petitions and crowdfunders. Meetings and phone ins. Chipping away.
There's still a long way to go to get the juggernaut turned.
But it's happening.

SpeakingOutLoud · 15/06/2020 16:57

Thank you too, OP. I heard you live on the radio. You were awesome!

Fairenuff · 15/06/2020 16:58

I remember being in absolute despair when no-one would listen to us and all the media blanked us. The time of bomb threats, doxxing, no platforming, no debate, enjoy your erasure and the rest of it. And no-one would help.

Man Friday, Posie speaking out, the Woman = adult human female projection, sticker lady and Martina and Sharon being dragged down by the pile on. Where were the men? No-one would help.

I know it's no-where near over, we have barely begun but I was beginning to wonder if we would ever be listened to. I can hardly believe how widely this is being reported in the media now. JKR has helped by adding her sunshine to all our little beams and together we have created a massive spotlight.

So, yes, thank you so, so much for your bravery, intelligence, resilience and cake recipe humour that is getting us through this dark and difficult time.
