I have been lurking on twitter lately and noticed Baroness Nicholson has been very active recently. Amongst her tweets are quite a few gems - letters to Liz Truss, tweets asking for evidence about Stonewall’s involvement CPS guidance just to name two.

This tweet I found very encouraging too.

It is imperative to restore the rights of women.I foresee a single issue, cluster approach;we make a new Women’s Rights movement lasting one year, solely to rescue womanhood from its destruction through today’s legal and social denial of our existence.Emma,BNoW

She has today written to Liz Truss again but this time with her concerns about the gross misinterpretation of the ECHR in the trans toolkits used in schools and recommends that such toolkits are removed from use now. Such support is great news.

I will try to post the letter for those not on twitter.

I look forward to seeing what what happens next.

She's dynamite. I love her!

Winesalot · 24/05/2020 21:30

The Telegraph has picked up the M&S story.

www.telegraph.co.uk/marks-spencer/

Concludes :
Baroness Nicholson claimed that M & S had ‘misunderstood’ the law on equality and single sex space and told the chairman ‘I believe you may wish to follow the Government’s line and resume single- sex spaces for the changing rooms in your stores.’

Customers and feminist campaigners have protested against the supermarket’s policy, arguing shops and other organisations have been misled by trans rights activists who claim equality laws mean they must accept male-born ‘self identifying’ woman as female or face allegations of illegal discrimination.

I do hope reports start telling how M&S (JL etc) told customers to f-off when they raised concerns.

Cuntysnark · 25/05/2020 07:46

Lamahaha Rhypnol words are in her inbox...

HorseRadishFemish · 25/05/2020 08:27

What the fuck is "female language"?

ChurchOfWokeApostate · 25/05/2020 15:54

Could someone please pm me the rohypnol analogy? I’ve heard a lot about it, but haven’t seen it, and can’t find anything when I try and search.

What the fuck is "female language"?

I think it's language with long hair and lipstick.

ChurchOfWokeApostate · 25/05/2020 20:28

Thanks all, that was really thought provoking.

thirdfiddle · 25/05/2020 21:21

Female language just means woman/mother/daughter/sister/Ms/she etc, pronouns and the rest. Yep, "living as a woman" if you're male literally consists of persuading other people to lie about your sex.

Lordfrontpaw · 25/05/2020 22:14

She is after some more scalps (she said ‘okey dokey to this request from someone on twitter):

“I was wondering @Baroness_Nichol if you could send one to twitter, ask them to reinstate all the women they banned for saying gender is not a protected characteristic and those who used the wrong pronouns as it wasn't an offense?“

Winesalot · 25/05/2020 23:17

She has also been introduced to the concept of ladydiques. Envy (not envy)

A good start to the morning and I can’t see that this offer will be taken up. But I am constantly surprised by the energy the Baroness is now focusing here. Like sunlight but as a laser beam.

Wonder if she's seen those craven shites at GMB have pulled the MN chats?

Datun · 26/05/2020 09:30

Ffs George. I hope she sends him the link of all the men's comments on reddit.

happydappy2 · 26/05/2020 10:00

Is she aware that the NSPCC refused to have a webchat on Mumsnet due to the controversy of trans children?? Or something along those lines

Michelleoftheresistance · 26/05/2020 10:11

The NSPCC refused to go through with a webchat when they realised they were going to be faced with the very difficult cognitive dissonance they've been clinging on to.

It goes something like:

Here's our pants campaign. It's all really important. Tell children only they know when they're uncomfortable and something feels wrong. Tell children they should say no to being made to undress or show their body to someone else if it doesn't feel right. Your 'no' is not up for debate.

BUT if you're a female child and you're uncomfortable, it feels wrong and you want to say no because you're being asked to undress or go to the loo in front of a male child who wants to be treated as a female one...… it's naughty to feel uncomfortable or say no and you shouldn't do it, and you should be kind and do what the male child wants.

Safeguarding for females that must be predicated on male permission.

Right to say no or feel uncomfortable must be predicated on male permission.

If saying 'no' to males about your body might make them feel sad you must be kind and do what they want regardless of how you feel and if you don't you might get in trouble for hate crime.

You couldn't make it much worse. The NSPCC knew it would be a total car crash they'd never recover from.

Michelleoftheresistance · 26/05/2020 10:15

Its the same utter male supremacist lunacy underlying 'you should have sex with a male person even if you're homosexual, don't want to and it will be a horrible experience for you because you should be focused on it's all about the male person and not about you, it's the right thing to do, females shouldn't really want to enjoy sex anyway because their bodies only exist for male people's purposes and they aren't really real humans, and you're actually only having those feelings in the first place because you're a bad person'.

It's medieval. This is 15th century bullshit back in Mac lipstick.

Needmoresleep · 26/05/2020 10:27

GMB, the NSPCC and various politicians and advertisers refusing to engage with MN are organisations unwilling to listen to or accept the views of ordinary women.

We provide forum content, it is not provided by Justine and colleagues. They just provide the space, and moderate conversations. (Often more heavily than spaces predominantly used by men.)

I hope the good Baroness is starting to see the way women's views are policed on social media. It was probably always like that, except as a middle class educated and articulate woman and an elected MP, then Peer, she never saw it before.
