That's an excellent point. I was once one if the BBC's greatest defenders but no longer unfortunately, although I would miss it if it went.

If Radios 3 and 4 went then I don't know what I'd do. The news part of the BBC needs to be significantly reformed, maybe in the direction of the World Service. But definitely more objectivity and less celebrity. (See Evan Davis believing that his views should supplant the findings of a High Court judge in terms of how the audience is informed.)

I got a response from the BBC. In their view Evan Davies was entitled to call Miller "anti-trans" all the way through the interview even though this phrase did not reflect the contents of the High Court judgement because Davies didn't call Miller "transphobic". The official view of the BBC of the debate is that one side is "pro-trans" and the opposite side is "anti-trans". How limited and binary is that?

That's another step down in the level of respect I have for the BBC. By the time I'm done I'm going to be over on the side of cheering the abolition of the TV licence.

Hmm... splitting hairs. I think if someone was referred to as anti-(add in chosen ethnic group) everyone knows they actually mean racist.
