Anyone watching? I'm shocked that this group of women are 'scared' of stopping shaving for a mere 6 weeks.

Will watch tomorrow. I see loads of women with folliculitis due to shaving/ waxing. I think pubic hair looks much better than the plucked turkey look, especially plucked turkey with folliculitis. I don't like men with shaved genitals either. Hopefully it is a trend that has had its day. I think women with bushes look sexier.

OhGodWhatTheHellNow · 27/01/2020 23:37

Dh depilates even though I don't like it but his bits his choice. Therefore my choice to stay au naturale which he doesn't like.

We're in our 50s ffs.

colouringinpro · 27/01/2020 23:40

I watched, thought it was ok. My sis is 15 years younger than me, her and all her peers are bald. That's the norm. I think it's pretty sad - led by porn industry and darker influencers?

NemophilistRebel · 27/01/2020 23:44

34 and hate the thought of being bald as a child down there

Not something that’s ever been bought up in my friendship group so now wondering if shaved really is as common as this programme makes out to be

I felt a bit sad after watching it that I could be the abnormal one and seen as disgusting for having hair

HeIenaDove · 28/01/2020 00:55

I remember hearing about the 1950s when women were expected to put on a nice dress and some lipstick before hubby got home.

Now the removal of pubic hair is expected. We have come so far since the 1950s...............oh wait.

HeIenaDove · 28/01/2020 00:56

Was interesting how most of the British blokes expected pubic hair removal and the non British bloke said he really wasnt bothered.

HeIenaDove · 28/01/2020 00:58

And the little bastard who called that young woman Pringles

His parents obvs went wrong somewhere.......

ScapaFlo · 28/01/2020 01:13

The contrast between the shaved/waxed pubes but MASSIVE eyebrows and false eyelashes was... um... interesting? Removing some hair but adding lots of fake hair elsewhere just seemed a bit bizarre

Antibles · 28/01/2020 01:24

Yes. So depressing. Are we our own worst enemies? Men say jump, women say how high? Why aren't we better at unionising and telling them to fuck off?

BitOfFun · 28/01/2020 01:27

ScapaFlo, I think nature abhors a vacuum Grin.

HeIenaDove · 28/01/2020 01:31

The bloke who was going on about oral made my skin crawl with his whole attitude.

BitOfFun · 28/01/2020 02:13

Likewise, the hipster men who metrosexually started to "groom" down there, needed to grow beards to compensate...

GirlDownUnder · 28/01/2020 02:47

Hahahah BoF, you're like ham. You're on a roll Grin

Siameasy · 28/01/2020 09:32

Will have to watch that on catch up. My DH isn’t fussy (he’s 30s) but I’ve spoken to men who think men naturally prefer the bald look as opposed to being conditioned to like it.
I remember being asked to shave it c1999 (bic as opposed to electric). Never again. Keeping tidy, fine. Incurring discomfort not fine.

Mockers2020Vision · 28/01/2020 10:04

It's socialisation. 1970s porn was a veritable rain forest of topiary, an absence of which was a red flag indicating that way lies prison.

ScapaFlo · 28/01/2020 12:40

Mockers I agree. Why are fully grown women expected to look like prepubescent children? The porn film director said that the, um, action was better seen, but everyone else bar one said it was unclean, dirty, disgusting etc. I found it really sad that the women felt that way about themselves.

And Grin to the beards. What a (literally) topsy turvy world we live in!

thenightsky · 28/01/2020 13:14

I don't understand the comments about hair feeling dirty, disgusting etc. I shaved it all off only once or twice in my life of 60 years and it felt horrible... Sticky, clammy and sweaty. Weird.

yellowallpaper · 28/01/2020 13:44

Gives me a rash trying to remove hair any way, and it itchy and uncomfortable. I trim and shave the upper leg line for swim wear but it's sad girls feel that much pressure. I also thinks it's definitely weird men prefer to look at a child like pubic area Confused

Goosefoot · 28/01/2020 14:39

TBH I think the change in porn was in part because of the increased visibility but also because it was different, and different can be a turn on. I would not be totally surprised to see it change again in a while.

I do have some sympathy for people preferring what they are used to. I hate manscaping, whatever I believe ideologically about people making their own choices I find it a total turn off. And its not something you can just change about your response.

NeurotrashWarrior · 28/01/2020 15:12

It's bloody itchy.

What's the point?

NeurotrashWarrior · 28/01/2020 15:12

Waste of my time and money and effort!

nonsenceagain · 28/01/2020 19:23

I don't care what my DH, or any man, thinks about it.

2Rebecca · 28/01/2020 19:50

As a GP I think there is an age/ education divide re female pubic hair. Older women and more educated women are more likely to have some sort of bush. Agree that in the 70s everyone had bushes. Have waxed or delipidated mine off a few times and always got folliculitis and itchy horrible regrowth despite having more access than most to creams to prevent this.
