Luckily, Harry still had friends in the wood, including the otters, who went down to the lake when the Mermaids were drunk on fermented windfall apples (it made cider insider their insides) and managed to pull out enough shopping trolleys to get the pound coins to pay the legal eagle.

The Wise Old Beak would be in the abandoned church at midnight to hear the case. And the sperrow would perch up in the rafters to tweet out the case for everyone to hear......
