I'm sure we've all read this passage where Izzard bravely takes on teenage girls who challenge him for being in the women's toilets hundreds of times before but Michael's take down is spot on. And funny

What is Michael's twitter handle? I thought I/he followed but now I can't find him - assume he's still there.

zanahoria · 19/09/2019 12:35

I haven't found Eddie funny in years but laughed my back off when I heard him congratulate himself for standing up to teenage girls.

#braveandstunning

OrchidInTheSun · 19/09/2019 13:13

Just had a look @fannycam - think he's changed it. It's @michaelconraoi

I'd LOVE to know what EI imagined would happen in the final scene of this episode - Would women be scared and fuck off leaving him to his fantasy?
We're they honoured that a male was present and smile, laugh and be totally fine with a man, now dressed in man clothes, being there?
Did he pass in his version - if so what happens when he steps out of the cubicle in male attire?
Or (my pick) did women not feature for one moment in this mememememeeeee tale?

It's such utter bullshit.
It IS brave to challenge gender stereotypes, it must be so hard to step out as someone clearly male in a dress.
Its not brave to smash into women's space & scream at children for questioning WTF you're doing there, after drawing attention to yourself running in & out of cubicles Hmm

You're an arse Eddie.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 14:04

It’s not brave if you are someone used to being on stage and loving the limelight.

I saw him striding down Tottenham Court Road at lunchtime (with a look of ‘Don’t you know who I am, I’m brilliant I am), not the arse end of [insert rough town of your choice] at 1am.

ChickenyChick · 19/09/2019 14:10

Thanks for sharing OP! Love it

GroggyLegs · 19/09/2019 14:32

Yes Fekko let me rephrase:
'it must be so hard to step out for the first time as someone clearly male in a dress'

I don't mean hes brave now.
He's as arse now.

RaveOnThisCrazyFeeling · 19/09/2019 16:18

Fanny and Orchid, it's @michealconraoi not @michaelconraoi (note positions of a and e in first name). Irish spelling.

OrchidInTheSun · 19/09/2019 16:24

Oops thanks @RaveOnThisCrazyFeeling I was so busy getting the vowels right in the surname I didn't even notice!

I saw Izzard in London in 1995 and even then he was making jokes about being a ‘lesbian trapped in a man’s body’.

Talking of middle aged crises and hairplugs....

BarbaraStrozzi · 19/09/2019 17:10

Ah yes, I read that earlier. Eleven grand - and that's just the hair transplants.

JoyceJeffries · 19/09/2019 17:38

Couldn’t Thomas just have bought a wig? Would have saved £10925. What a total waste of money.

FannyCann · 19/09/2019 18:02

Ah thanks Rave - still there on my feed but I couldn't find him! Iirc he had a problem with someone setting up very similarly named copycat troll accounts so looks like he's renamed himself.

64sNewName · 19/09/2019 18:15

Love the link in the OP. I hadn’t actually read that Izzard guff before.

SirVixofVixHall · 19/09/2019 18:45

Eddie hates women. I remember reading a rather chilling interview where he talked about possibly wanting a baby, and how he would just get a surrogate.
Women do not exist as real feeling people to him, they only exist as props or annoyances or fetishes.

What the hell did I just read?

Author David Thomas still lives as a man, but has begun the male-to-female gender transition that will eventually result in becoming a woman.

Becoming a woman? 😨

OneOfOurOwn · 19/09/2019 19:05

I'm another one who used to like Izzard went to see him a couple of times. Wouldn't do it now. Just a creepy old AGP.

Mermoose · 19/09/2019 19:17

I used to really like Eddie Izzard. But, even before he turned out to be a sexist, I started having doubts about him when I heard this interview. He talks about politics and he just comes across as a blatherer. You can almost hear Frank Skinner thinking 'Jesus he talks some amount of bollocks'.

I’m still chortling at the photos of him getting off a transatlantic flight in miniskirt and long boots, full slap. Yes because that how we women all dress to take a long flight.

rabbitwoman · 19/09/2019 20:30

I used to adore Eddie izzard, and I used to find his confidence in wearing what he wanted very sexy. But seeing him in some of those outfits really hits home how narcissistic this whole thing is.....

I used to think, but why would a man feel comfortable dressed as a woman, knowing that everybody is going to be staring at him, maybe hassling him, drawing a lot of attention to himself, why would someone actually feel more comfortable like that? But now it's becoming more and more obvious, that that's the point - being stared at, looked at, pointed at, hassled, that's what they want. It's worrying.

And also, i heard that interview with Frank Skinner a few months ago when it was repeated on radio 4. It's about 15 years old. Eddie izzard very clearly says that he is mostly boy, with a little bit of girl. Well, then, that's not transgender, is it!!??? And he says that when he wants to get acting roles in Hollywood he rocks up in suits and stubble, acts all manly, all macho - hmmmmm. That's not transgender either, is it!!?? So quite obviously he is not entitled to muscle in on women's rights.

I think the potter person who dresses in women’s clothes I don’t know his name but he said he totally got off on it when walk-in ing out dressed in his lady clothe

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/09/2019 21:14

Grayson Perry? His alter ego seems more like a dolly than a girl. He still knows he’s a man though.
