Not a great look for Strava to be parading in support of such a person.

MrG plus she may be a "true believer". I have a lesbian friend in this category. If you're happily settled in a long term relationship (which I believe Rapinoe is), and are never going to be facing pressure to date lady peen, I think there's a tendency to buy the L with the T stuff because you've been told repeatedly that "we're all oppressed minorities in this together." Plus if you never check out the suicide stats/ violence stats and realise that quite a lot of them are made up, you probably would believe the "most oppressed of the oppressed" line.

RidewithGPS, Garmin? Not sure of others but will certainly be looking. I just cant believe after the initial backlash they didnt either delete the tweet or go away quietly, not all publicity is good publicity!!!

Gareth Nettleton is the VP of Marketing for Strava if anyone wanted to contact him to share thoughts on this:

Great, I put writing him on my to do list for the weekend.

And amazing, at the moment, every single comment is trashing Strava for this.

I looked at the Twitter handles of those responding to the Strava post, and I don't know them, they are outside my 'echo chamber'. Unsurprising given Strava has 176,273 followers! But IMO this means that Strava are reaching people who have not previously even been aware of this conflict. Reaching and peaking.

Maybe that’s the strategy?

Since the Twitter bio says they're in San Francisco my guess is that this may be the first time they're encountering the concept that hey, maybe not everyone is on board with the gender crap. The fact that they keep reposting the same thing, in the hopes of a different response I assume, suggests that they think this is a temporary glitch in the unreality matrix that will soon resolve itself.

Athletes - pro and amateur - all know what's fair and what's not. It's called sportsmanship.

And the male athletes all know female athletes who work bloody hard to do their best as well, so they can all see the problem with crystal clarity.

This overreach by an entitled man is so blatant, nobody can help but be peaked by it.
