Maverique is a thing appatently. Maverick obviously sounds too masculine so they made it sound French and funky. There's a flag too!

gender.wikia.org/wiki/Maverique

Maverique (pronounced mav-reek) is a specific nonbinary gender identity "characterized by autonomy and inner conviction regarding a sense of self that is entirely independent of male/masculinity, female/femininity or anything which derives from the two while still being neither without gender nor of a neutral gender." Maverique is not close to a female or male gender, and is not like a mix of them; the identity goes beyond the entire scope of the gender binary or any identities within and outside of it. It is independent of the entire concept of the gender binary, including other non-binary identities that are derived from comparison with binary genders. It also isn't a lack of gender, or an apathetic attitude about gender. Maverique is strictly a gender identity, not a gender expression, so "how a maverique person chooses to express or present themself is entirely up to that individual." Maverique is not an umbrella term, but a specific gender identity.

History

In 2014, Vesper H. (queerascat) created the word "maverique" to describe their own gender. The word comes from "maverick" and the French suffix "-ique," and can be used as a noun ("some maveriques") or an adjective ("some maverique people").
Difference from other genders

Maverique is similar to, but not the same as, other nonbinary identities such as aporagender, neutrois, or gendermaverick. Maverique is not a lack of a gender identity, so it isn't the same as agender or genderless. Unlike ethnic nonbinary gender identities such as Two-Spirit and third gender, maverique is not an identity exclusive to any ethnic group. Anyone of any ethnic background can take up the word maverique for themselves, if they feel that it describes them. It's never cultural appropriation.

‘Like salted diamonds’ (snigger)

FemaleAndLearning · 01/07/2019 22:52

Someone posted another Tumblr gender list and I picked perigender, I can't remember what that means now but it was a load of non-meaningful nonsense just like this one.

OccasionalKite · 01/07/2019 23:06

The word salad is word salad!

But I quite like "magnifique", what with me being a 50-something mum of two young adults. And I bought a dress last week!

I've been using "genderfree" recently, but, yep - "magnifique", I think this is the real me.

Grin
OccasionalKite · 01/07/2019 23:52

Damn, I meant to write, "Maverique", as per the OP, but I actually wrote "magnifique"!

Drink has been taken, admittedly.

I'd be perfectly happy with "Maverique" too! Shall have to remember that one, for forms to fill in.

I am a 50-something mum (adult human female) Grin

I think I'll be xenogender (assuming it's not already claimed).

Of course it's already been claimed, it's got a flag and everything.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 02/07/2019 00:06

If Xenogender is gone, could we be Xenagender? I absolutely identify as a kick ass warrior princess.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/07/2019 00:11

I see there's one called 'bigender', which I can't help reading as being related to your boiled egg eating preference. Or byte order...bigendianness is the dominant ordering in networking protocols.

OccasionalKite · 02/07/2019 00:27

Are bigenders anything to to with, gulp, eastenders?

Pieceofpurplesky · 02/07/2019 00:39

I quite like Maverique will go nicely with DS BalonZ. Wrong thread?

LadyBumclock · 02/07/2019 09:36

I want a speshul gender too - I shall be Sardonique!

(I tried to write speshul and autocorrect gave me Shula! Confused )

My (former) sister is embroiled in all this and it’s a fucking minefield. Basically whatever you say or do you are being offensive to THEM or some other personage whose rights they angrily defend. Her I mean it’s twitter is a thing to behold. She’s not even young!

ErrolTheDragon · 02/07/2019 09:41

(I tried to write speshul and autocorrect gave me Shula! )

Are you perhaps Ambridgender?

ErrolTheDragon · 02/07/2019 09:43

Sorry, forgot the flag for that one Archers

LadyBumclock · 02/07/2019 09:50

Ambrigender 😂

I have found my true identity. Forget Sardonique, that’s so 20 minutes ago. Now I can demand total silence when the archers is on otherwise it’s literal violence.

sue51 · 02/07/2019 10:05

I'm still trying to get my head round my DD's non binary but has a female body, presents as female, has a male bodied boyfriend and must not be misgendered or all hell breaks loose, friend. Now there's another one!!! I can't keep up.

StrangeLookingParasite · 04/07/2019 01:45

Quelle pile de bolleaux

T'as raison.

Zeugma · 04/07/2019 04:26

Errol just as long as nobody tries to be Pipgender

Durgasarrow · 04/07/2019 22:32

Do you need a very special sparkly crayon to write Maverique?
