Gender ideology is sod all to do with our publicly-funded Fire and Rescue Services.

If she’s been there less than two years the best thing the Fire Service could do would be to let her go. We are living in times of unprecedented austerity and the fire brigade are going into schools to deliver LGBT lessons?!? fair enough going into schools to tell children not to play with matches or play with fireworks etc but this is absolute insanity.

It says on her LinkedIn that she's been in the job 1 month.

Oh gods, is it the last week of school term or thereabouts, so someone has sorted their child a job doing a fire and rescue service Twitter account?

I mean, that's what it reads like.

Are they about to start distinguishing between stereotypes, when they are needed for vehicle collisions or burning buildings?

I'm from Ireland, and people from the older generation, my Dad included, have told me that the priest on Sunday mass, would name the people who had not gone to confession the week before and the ones who didn't pay into the collection box. Confession, for those who don't know, is where you sit in a dark box and tell the priest all your sins so that you can be forgiven by Jesus.
Anyway, the shaming of those 8 parents and their kids in that woman's thread reminded me of that.

What's the betting the law isn't actually understood whether you it's in-house or external? And that inclusion doesn't mean cunty women.

What struck me last night us that if Abby hadn't posted about this on twitter, we wouldn't know.

Abby has no training in education, safeguarding or experience in working with children. Why is a school letting her in?

There is nothing in that job description that remotely suggests that going into schools to deliver LGBT education is part of the role. And yet Abby is making it a priority? I wonder how much work she is doing for other groups with protected characteristics of, say, race or sex?

Actually after looking at the job advert link they could sack abbey and hire another 2 firefighters.

I do wonder how it’s possible not to feel ashamed in a non-role like this when you are raking in double the salary of people who are literally risking their lives to fulfil the actual point of the service.

Massive over reach. I think organisations need to really think about what outreach work staff should be doing. Only two reasons why she should be near a school- fire safety or trying to encourage more girls to become firefighters. Not giving destabilising talks to 11 and 12 year old about the contested idea of gender identity. I really judge the schools who permit this. Where is your duty of care to the students?

But if the Fire Service wish to identify as Stonewall surely that is their right?
