The pause to the GRA changes in Scotland have happened because women galvanised and created a grass roots movement.

Mumsnet is one of the very few places where women could share ideas, opinions and reflections on the loss of our rights.

So, thank you, Mumsnet. I know that the focus of this place is, ultimately, business - but, your business has helped a very good thing happen and I am hopeful that the ramifications of yesterday's events in Holyrood will lead to proper social change for women, whether they have the good sense to be on here or not.

There are amazing women here. I have learned so much and gained so much from a place where I was supposed to, apparently, talk about prams.

Thank you Mumsnet, after reading various threads on the Feminism Chat board I got more involved in FWS and attended one of the meetings. It was amazing to be in a packed lecture theatre full of like-minded women. I am so pleased that the rights and safety of women and girls are now going to considered properly in Scotland.

In the grand history of feminism, in the chapter of protecting sex as a characteristic, mumsnet would feature as an important catalyst in creating a community of women that would stand up and be counted. Without it I'm not sure I'd have been aware or motivated to do anything.

DocMarteens · 21/06/2019 15:41

Just to echo others and say thanks.

This space has been incredibly powerful in helping me formulate my thoughts on women rights issues xx

teawamutu · 21/06/2019 15:44

And I'm still up for a Radicalised on Mumsnet t-shirt.

Might help cover any legal fees? Wink

PurpleCrowbar · 21/06/2019 15:49

Very much this. Thank you Thanks

nauticant · 21/06/2019 15:50

Thanks @MNHQ.

There's a load of hypocritical cobblers spoken about free speech on the Internet but this is one of the rare places where you really do work towards that. As a bonus, it's largely free of frothing loons meaning we can have a worthwhile discussion.

ChattyLion · 21/06/2019 16:40

Thank you to MN Flowers Gin and to all who post in you.

chilling19 · 21/06/2019 17:45

Yes, outstanding! Thanks

ChickenonaMug · 21/06/2019 18:00

Thank you MNHQ for providing this platform that enables me to read the thoughts of so many wonderful, interesting and informed women.

I once took part in a conversation where the question was "if you could only use one website for the rest of your life, which website would it be?" My answer was of course Mumsnet. I can find out and discuss the News here, ask advice on a problem and even work out which colour to paint my front door. However if I was limited to only one part of Mumsnet, then it would without doubt be FWR. I have gained so much knowledge and strength here and found a voice that I have never had before.

Thank you *@MNHQ*for being amazing, despite what I am sure is a tough job.

nonsenceagain · 21/06/2019 18:10

Thank you SO much from me too.

Lordamighty · 21/06/2019 18:21

Thank you from me too & all the Scottish women who have achieved such a good result with the pause to the GRA.

HumberElla · 21/06/2019 18:36

Thank you mumsnet. For staying strong.
Sometimes I worry where I would find other women like me if the TRA took you down.

AltogetherAndrews · 21/06/2019 18:38

Yes, thank you mnhq!

HavelockVetinari · 21/06/2019 18:41

Agreed. Thank you @MNHQ

I'm Scottish and work for the public sector. This is one of the few places I can speak freely
Same

VickyEadie · 21/06/2019 19:17

Thanks, @MNHQ. I'm 61 and childless and found this place when I had begun to despair of somewhere that I could talk to other women about issues that concerned me deeply.

And AIBU is flippin' hilarious.

Shenanagins · 21/06/2019 19:42

Totally agree especially to those who raised awareness about the proposal and the petition.
