Mermaids has apparently put lots of confidential data online including private emails, personal data and emails demonstrating the pressure they have put on the Tavistock.
Andrew Gilligan article - share token:

The problem is they have not been a charity for that long, so presumably before they became a charity this information is not available.

TimeLady · 16/06/2019 19:47

Mermaids is a support group originally formed in 1995 by a group of parents who were brought together as a result of their children's longstanding gender variance.

I'm dipping in and out of this:

twitter.com/search?q=mermaids%20(times%20OR%20gilligan)&src=typed_query&f=live

There's some great deflection and denial going on. With some DARVO for added spice.

SpitefulBreasts · 16/06/2019 19:56

Susie Green and many Mermaids staff have to stay committed to the trans ideology. They have to keep pushing the gendered brain bullshit. If they don't then they will need to face up to to truth that they subjected their child to unspeakable atrocities.
How could a mother admit that not only did she get it so horribly wrong but was proactive in forcing these atrocities on their child?
Mermaids will keep on screaming "transphobia" at anyone that tries to bring any light to their safeguarding protocols.
It's absolutely clear to me that Mermaids are using the " attack is the best defence mechanism" the instant reaction of a narcissist.

AnyMinuteNow · 16/06/2019 20:06

Its imperative for many dc that they are able to 'try on' identities, not exclusuve to, but especially through, teen years; this has been long time establishes part of psychological child development theory. It is the natural identity progression/development, it doesnt mean anything permanent, and thats in TEEN years! To say it does does flies in the face of soo much evidenced research.

everythingthelighttouches · 16/06/2019 20:57

The online bbc article about this still quotes the original statement from mermaids. It will be interesting to see if they rewrite this...

littlbrowndog · 16/06/2019 21:04

Amazing anlaf that them 2 statements from mermaids changed in 2 years

littlbrowndog · 16/06/2019 21:09

And that most cross dressing males are heterosexual according to mermaids in 2009

But according to stonewall in 2019 ain’t they queer or non binary or something I am trying hard to think of a blah blah. But will definitely be stunning and brave
What happened in ten years.

Money fame power ?

littlbrowndog · 16/06/2019 21:12

The relaiston that you could get access to power, lottery money, a job for life. Get to be on. The telly. Be admired. Have politicians admire you. Power. Power money money

TheBullshitGoesOn · 16/06/2019 22:18

I'm slightly concerned that Mermaids will scapegoat and ditch SG and pretend that all is now well. But SG can't be alone in pushing this agenda for the organisation (and we know she isn't). Even if SG officially goes, the organisation will still be dangerous to children.

HandsOffMyRights · 16/06/2019 22:26

Don't forget what also goes with power and money, Littlbrown.

missedith01 · 16/06/2019 22:28

I don't see how they can limit it to SG, if the reports are correct the trustees must have been aware of the breaches too.

littlbrowndog · 16/06/2019 22:33

Oh gawd hands. Yeps you are Wright. It is like some giant octopus undercut by erm ppl who want all the safeguarding dismantling but the ppl in front line don’t see this

Gamers can see this

RedToothBrush · 16/06/2019 22:36

I don't see how they can limit it to SG, if the reports are correct the trustees must have been aware of the breaches too.

I think we should shake the hand of the trustee who said the Times did an attack piece for exposing a data breach, for making it obvious its more than Susie Green that's a real issue.

littlbrowndog · 16/06/2019 22:36

So like there is this undercurrent of ppl trying to get stuff pushed through and the ones in frontline just fodder and being used

littlbrowndog · 16/06/2019 22:38

I think green might be expendable. She has done what she was meant to do

The creepy under covers are ones who are achieving what they wanted

Must get me tin foil hat on 😎

jamrollyolly · 16/06/2019 22:54

Anlaf

That's such powerful information quoted in that way, I wish we could put that on billboards all over the country! No one outside the TRA cult could fail to read that and see the massive change of focus and wonder why.

GrumpyCatLives · 16/06/2019 23:04

I agree: SG will be thrown under the bus shortly. They don't like XX women in this movement.

ChattyLion · 16/06/2019 23:05

Just thinking about the funding of Mermaids, in the BBC write up- it mentions the lottery only:
It recently received £500,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund.
But don’t the BBC-backed Children in Need charity also give Mermaids funding, or at least they used to, I thought? Odd not to mention that if so ..Hmm

Cismyfatarse1 · 16/06/2019 23:39

Kiwi farms calling for help from Mumsnet on this. Don't normally read their stuff but wondered if that was where the story had come from - seems not.

jamrollyolly · 16/06/2019 23:54

Wow that's interesting, fatarse, what kind of help do the farmers want?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 16/06/2019 23:55

They want to archive all of the leaked emails.

I don't think they should be given the ones about individual children and families though.

MoltenLasagne · 17/06/2019 03:55

This is also from Mermaids in 2009, such a change in tone in ten years. It’s no wonder that previous parents have spoken out about concerns with Susie’s leadership.

“Gender Identity Disorders in infancy, childhood and adolescence are complex and have varied causes: in the majority of cases the eventual outcome will be homosexuality or bisexuality, but often there will be a heterosexual outcome as some gender issues can be caused by a bereavement, a dysfunctional family life, or (rarely) by abuse. Only a small proportion of cases will result in a transsexual outcome. Whatever the cause, a child with a gender identity problem is very often deeply unhappy, and their family will suffer as a result. It is essential that sympathetic and non-judgmental help be sought in order to help the child or adolescent, and their family.”

Here is an article about the BBC, including its Children in Need donations. Seems they're hardly impartial around reporting:

The original MN thread this was pulled from:
