I know I'm not a favourite of this site but thought I would still drop this here for women who might be interested in joining us in riding for all the women murdered by men they knew since 2016. link.medium.com/H3c3ex9cwX

@VaggieMight I'm really sorry. It's always the thought of what the woman went through in the dying moments that is really painful to think about. How she must have felt the betrayal. 😓

How will this work? Is there a start point, a route to follow? Where can I find more detail of the local rides? Thanks

Ereshkigal · 15/06/2019 18:44

Very well said, LangCleg

@Beebeequeue The date is 7th Sept at 1pm. A number of regional rides are being organised and Woman's Place Uk will be listing them when the full details are all in place. I'm adding to them as women say where they want to organise a ride.

@HumberElla thanks very much

My arse, knackered hip and pelvis buggered up by a childbirth injury mean I can’t join in - but Jean has ridden before for an old school friend stabbed 27 times by her husband and the fact this woman is still being remembered long after the media interest has moved on was greatly appreciated.

SunsetBeetch · 15/06/2019 19:47

Jean I think we can have our disagreements yet still support a woman when they're doing something bloody brilliant, which you are.

I saw the flack you've had from TRAs on twitter and it truly disgusted me. But...Streisand Effect or what?

ErrolTheDragon · 15/06/2019 19:56

Thanksthanks, second link works for me

stumbledin · 15/06/2019 20:55

@Jeanhatchet

Hi this sounds like a really good idea.

But .... can I point out that in fact only a tiny minority of people, and especially women, use twitter so if you want the info of the many rides which I am sure will start up can you post them elsewhere?

eg here i MNHQ rules allow

or ask WPUK if they can post a list as a foot note to your article there

or as a facebook event

I know the main stream media make it look like twitter is the most important social media forum in the world but the stats say otherwise. It is one of the least use. Women are more likely to use instagram or facebook.

And this is aimed at women?!!

Hope you dont mind me saying this.

Its meant to be positive feedback / suggestion.

Hope it goes well.

Jeanhatchet · 15/06/2019 22:09

@stumbledin

Woman's Place UK have offered to put out the full details when known. Cheers

That's fantastic!

So can women who aren't on twitter tell WPUK via facebook or email if they are planning a ride?

Jeanhatchet · 16/06/2019 06:39

@stumbledin hi again - Woman's Place are just hosting the details.

There will be details there and then a contact of the women organising in each area. We are only just pulling this together and working out the finer points like routes, safety, permissions etc. Though some of this is going to have to be political activism in nature rather than an "event" as such.
