I know I'm not a favourite of this site but thought I would still drop this here for women who might be interested in joining us in riding for all the women murdered by men they knew since 2016. link.medium.com/H3c3ex9cwX

Re Belfast ride ... no one has offered to organise one yet but I hope they will! Thanks for answering, Jean. I’m not ‘on’ twitter but I read it. I saw a couple of people ask, so I’ll see if I can sign up and contact them.

VeniceAllan · 15/06/2019 12:06
Hmm
barelove · 15/06/2019 12:07

Right, I'm joining you both. Going out right now for a bike ride as a tribute to Frances Hubbard.

Thank you Jean for bringing these women's stories to our awareness and being the inspiration for us all to speak up about male violence. It can't be allowed to go unnoticed. Flowers

S1naidSucks · 15/06/2019 12:08

VeniceAllan, have I said something wrong? Confused

DanaPhoenix · 15/06/2019 12:14

81? Dear God. I'm lost for words. Thinking of her 😢

ZebrasAreBras · 15/06/2019 12:23

Thinking of you, Jean, and Frances.

I'll be sending a donation your way this week Thanks

aliasundercover · 15/06/2019 12:35

Please excuse me Jeanhatchet, I didn't mean to cause any confusion. As a man I'm (rightly) not invited on this ride.

Jeanhatchet · 15/06/2019 12:59

@aliasundercover .... ah. Thanks for being honest and accepting this isn't for men. Cheers.

@VeniceAllan have you got a problem with this?

Jeanhatchet · 15/06/2019 13:02

@ZebrasAreBras thank you

@VeniceAllan some of the women's families are going to see that comment Venice. It's a really disrespectful way to speak of their murdered relatives. I hope you have a little think on and request it is deleted.

Anyone? Huh ok. Well it’s almost midnight Saturday here. I’ve had a few couple of relaxing wines. I suspect I’m not the only one.

I don’t know what is causing the animosity here. But I do think you’re way out of line Venice. Don’t do this here.

BadgertheBodger · 15/06/2019 15:02

If anyone is planning to walk their bike anywhere in Lancashire or on the Manchester route please can you drop me a PM? I’d like to join in but too disabled to ride. Would be lovely to have some company so anyone who needs a slower/non riding route let me know!!

DanaPhoenix · 15/06/2019 15:06

Clearly a few couple. Whoops cheers 🍷

Haworthia · 15/06/2019 15:12

I wasn’t aware you were disliked here either Jean. I’m always in awe of what you do.

When did you start your rides? A lovely ex-colleague of mine was stabbed to death by her son in 2015. I wondered whether you’d done a ride for her.

Just as an aside - when I heard the news that she’d died but didn’t know the details, only that it was a sudden death and not due to illness, I knew it was her son. I knew very little about him, only that he was a bit of a waster. I just KNEW.

LangCleg · 15/06/2019 15:19

Oh, FFS.

Jean: this I know I'm not a favourite of this site is clearly bloody goady. Unworthy of you.

I, and most of the regulars here, have spent many hours of our time defending you from an endless stream of non-regular brigading posters.

And yes, we've done the same for others: Posie, Venice, Lisa, Caro, etc ad infinitum. All regardless of personal friendships.

Venice: silly fucking emojis also clearly bloody goady. Also unworthy of you.

Pack it in. We're nobody's flying monkeys.

HOPE THE RIDES GO BRILLIANTLY.

VeniceAllan · 15/06/2019 15:22

Shit, I hadn't thought of it like that. Am now thinking that my embroidery for asylum seekers session later this afternoon is a bit tasteless too. Apologies.

LangCleg · 15/06/2019 15:29

NOBODY MAKE ME LAUGH WHILE I'M IN SCHOOLMARM MODE.

(If that isn't an FWR rule it bloody well should be.)

JackyHolyoake · 15/06/2019 15:33

Very well said, LangCleg

JackyHolyoake · 15/06/2019 15:34

And Lang .... "It's Ma'am!" Wink

KatvonHostileExtremist · 15/06/2019 16:36

I don't find it remotely funny.

You don't like someone, fine, best leave them alone.

Sick of the petty infighting

Jeanhatchet · 15/06/2019 17:03

@Haworthia

I'm so sorry. I started in 2017 riding for all the women murdered in 2016.

I'd be happy to ride for your friend if you want to DM me her name. I've ridden for quite a few women who have asked me to ride for women who were their friends. It's always an honour.
