I can't even c'n'p the good bits because it'd be the whole thing!

The PR people at NSPCC needs sacking for even considering the appointment in the first place. How can they appoint someone but not fully check them out before hand ! Flies in the face of everything they preach and everything they charge for when you attend some of their costly training events.

I despair with them.

Charity commission should have a close look at them.

donquixotedelamancha · 14/06/2019 17:01

Dear god that is a good article, even by Kirkup's standard.

S1naidSucks · 14/06/2019 17:06

Very good read, thank you. I felt very let down at the poor quality of reporting by the BBC. I’m glad it’s not just me.

But it’s not ‘poor quality’, it’s deliberately pro TRA at every single turn. No matter the issue, if there is a trans person connected, they will ALWAYS make the male who identifies as trans appear as some sort of victim. The BBC has a very large percentage of trans workers, in comparison to the percentage of trans in ordinary public life.

Absolutely brilliant article.

Munroe Bergdorf: NSPCC explains transgender activist decision

I think this is known as a victory for James Kirkup over the BBCs incompetence on this story.

JackyHolyoake · 14/06/2019 19:26

I think this is known as a victory for James Kirkup over the BBCs incompetence on this story.

Indeed and one hopes that the silly boy Ben, who wrote that appalling piece yesterday, is being sent on a training course about how to do journalism.

And maybe LOJ should also take note.

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/06/2019 19:27

Yep, James nailed it again.

Needmoresleep · 14/06/2019 19:29

This new BBC article does not seems to have been written by Ben Hunte despite the LGBTs role description being:

'The LGBT correspondent is a new role to cover stories which reflect the issues and debates surrounding sexuality and gender. You will focus on bringing in original stories and providing insight and analysis on matters impacting the LGBT community in the UK.'

RedToothBrush · 14/06/2019 19:41

There doesn't appear to be a named correspondent for the rehashed BBC article.

boatyardblues · 14/06/2019 19:42

Star for James. Bang on the money every time.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 14/06/2019 20:08

My favourite exam paper setter.
Absolutely nailed it.

NewarkShark · 14/06/2019 20:12

Outstanding article.

Needmoresleep · 14/06/2019 20:20

RTB exactly. Hunte seems to see his role as propagandist for transgenderism, rather than as a neutral balanced reporter. About time he made an effort to meet with/interview some women who are concerned about safeguarding and other implications.

MrsFogi · 14/06/2019 20:22

I see FPFW have shared this brilliant article on FB - it seems to be a good one to share/like (i.e. to stick our heads above the parapet in RL).

NowtSalamander · 14/06/2019 20:37

So good. I’m only still paying my Spec subs for James but I can’t work out why he’s not featured in the actual paper more - he’s a different class to people who have columns like bloody Toby Young or Delingpole. I’m hoping that this amazing set of articles he’s doing about transgenderism will stand him in good stead when the world recovers its sanity.

ChattyLion · 14/06/2019 20:37

Fantastic article by James Kirkup. Flowers Janice and please keep up the good work both, to ask the questions that need asking.

boatyardblues · 14/06/2019 20:48

Oh yes, Janice is an absolute star. Thank you too.

LizzieSiddal · 14/06/2019 21:10

Brilliant piece of writing from James.

People have such short memories. It’s almost as if Saville and his connection to the BBC and Children’s Charities, never happened.

Voice0fReason · 14/06/2019 21:51

Absolutely nailed it. What a great article.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 14/06/2019 22:18

I looked at my bank statement and wondered whether to continue with my Spectator sub - and have now read James's excellent article. So have decided to keep supporting ethical and honest journalism.
Thank you to him, Janice T, Andrew G and all the other journalists out there still speaking the truth.

youkiddingme · 14/06/2019 22:47

A lot of support on his twitter post

An intelligent person

DuchessSybilVimes · 14/06/2019 22:57

Bang on. Brilliant article.

Noonemournsthewicked · 14/06/2019 23:12

mic drop
Very good article.

Erythronium · 14/06/2019 23:55

Question: what are the differences between Munroe Bergdorf and Janice Turner that might explain the different ways in which they have been treated?

Yes, Y, oh Y, oh Y is Munroe treated differently from Janice?

BlackeyedGruesome · 15/06/2019 00:10

thanks.
