Worth tweeting her if the answer is yes. twitter.com/gabyhinsliff/status/1138815208712003584?s=21

Gaby needs to come on here to lister to non Twitter people.

Yes, usual Labour voter, left the LP finally after the appointment of a male in a Women's Officer post, was the final straw in them not acknowledging sex based oppression. In the 2 Local Elections since then I have spoilt my ballot papers writing 'sex not gender' and 'women don't have penises' on them. No party are listening to women's concerns and I won't vote for any of them again until and unless things change significantly.

DuMondeB · 12/06/2019 21:08

Someone tweet her the link to this thread?

littlbrowndog · 12/06/2019 21:10

I never voted in Europe elections. Nobody I can vote for

I always vote 😞

CharlieParley · 12/06/2019 21:13

Lifelong Green Party voter. Will never vote Green again. Not unless the Green Party makes a firm commitment to support women's sex-based rights.

The UK is a CEDAW signatory. Article One sets out that women are protected on the basis of their sex. As per their particularly enthusiastic adoption of the worst anti-women aspects of transgender ideology and legislation, the Green Party disagrees with that.

And as long as the Green Party actively opposes women's rights, I cannot vote for them.

Still suspended from Twitter for responding to a male who identifies as trans pontificating on the non-existence of sex and denying that women are oppressed. Just pointed out that here was yet another male telling females that sex - the basis for the oppression of my sex class by the male sex class - didn't exist even though humans have known that there are men and women, that there are different sex classes, since long before we had words to name them. Without, of course calling this man claiming womanhood a man or misgendering. But calling a male male is now also forbidden, apparently. Otherwise I'd be telling Gabi myself.

TheTrickyWitch · 12/06/2019 21:26

Yep. First time in my life I haven't voted in recent euro and council elections.

Can't believe that the left have completely abandoned class analysis (at a time of huge income inequality and economic instability with Brexit) in favour of all this identity politics bullshit!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 12/06/2019 21:44

Yes. And not on Twitter because of the same issue.

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 12/06/2019 21:49

Ex Green Party voter here, with an ex GP mother and an ex Lib Dem partner. Not that we've found a new home - none of us would vote Tory, and hell will freeze before I vote Labour! Still hoping just one party gets their act together to fight for women.

VortexofBloggery · 12/06/2019 21:49

Yes. Lifelong Labour (and Labor) voter. Voted Change UK in Euro election because they hadn't (yet) said anything stupid about TWAW and Brexit. Gaby is mistaken if she thinks this sentiment "only belongs on twitter". If the polls showed us people were too shy to mention they've voted Trump/Brexit, imagine how many silenced GC women there are? We see the male rapists put in women's prisons and we're outraged. We see men getting access to our spaces, our children's spaces and we're not supporting any party that lets this happen. I'll also spoil my ballot in protest.

TheInebriati · 12/06/2019 22:11

Yes, lifelong Labour voter, would also vote Green if there were multiple seats.
Never again. The Labour Party has told women like me we are not welcome.

Puggled · 12/06/2019 22:12

I have in the past voted Labour, Lib Dem and Green in various elections, but went for Change UK in the Euro election because of the other parties positions on self id.
I live in a Tory/Labour marginal but would only consider voting Labour if the candidate was clearly against self id.

ApplejackCriesOnTheInside · 12/06/2019 22:36

Isn't Gaby a TWAW-lets-just-be-kind type? I wonder if she's surprised by the responses.

loveyouradvice · 12/06/2019 22:37

Yes - used to give lots of money to Lib Dems (well, for me that is) and really support them .... Cannot do so any longer

SmallHaddockAndChips · 12/06/2019 22:47

Yes it certainly does affect my voting behaviour as it’s one (of many!) reasons why I’m not voting Labour any more and won’t be voting Lib Dem or Green instead. I voted for the Yorkshire Party in the European Election.

RubyViolet · 12/06/2019 22:49

2 x Yes from my household. Me and husband. 2 Labour members on the cusp of leaving. So upsetting to have to do this but we are both ready to cancel our direct debits.
Was hoping for a sign, a change, anything but Labour apparently don’t do women’s rights anymore.
Currently in discourse with our extended family, who are also seriously upset about this. They are teachers so are feeling overwhelmed with the lobby groups that have descended into their school life.
They are looking at leaving too.
Not on Twitter for professional reasons.

GaraMedouar · 12/06/2019 22:52

Yes - but I did vote Lib Dem in European elections purely as a Remain ‘protest’ vote. I was debating between Change UK and Lib dem. Not sure who I’d vote for now in a General Elections. If there was a party that was against self id that would get my vote.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 12/06/2019 22:55

Lifelong Labour Party voter. Actually joined the bloody Lib Dems because of their attitude to Brexit several years ago.

The Lib Dems ignored my complaints about their anti women ravings and after the Featherstone email, cancelled my membership. They now want my attention as they want my vote - funny that.
I voted Change UK simply because they haven't tried to erase women (and was upset not to be able to tick the WEP box because of their inability to know what a woman is).

So like everyone else I am politically homeless and I will NOT vote for any party that actively silences women and removes our rights (and the NSPCC shit storm is a grim reminder of what happens to the vulnerable when the woke are in charge)

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 12/06/2019 23:00

Yes, won't vote Labour again, nor Lib dem, have spoiled ballots or voted for independents and write woman=adult human female somewhere on all my ballots whether I vote or spoil. I don't know if this counts as spoiling even if I've only X'ed one box. Kind of hoping they need to look at it to decide .....

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 12/06/2019 23:00

Oh and I'm also not on twitter.

JustAnotherWoman · 12/06/2019 23:47

Not prepared to answer on twitter but not only have I changed my voting intentions as a result of self Id my adult off spring have also changed their voting intentions.

Hornets · 12/06/2019 23:54

Yes I have. Ex Labour member and life long Labour voter since 1983. Resigned from the Party May 2018 as one of the '300'. I haven''t transferred my vote to the Greens, Lib-Dem or WEP as they are all just as bad. I've had to spoil my vote in local elections and I voted ChangeUK in the Euros.

I am also an ex-Guardian reader because of their one sided view and suppression of gender critical voices on this matter.

Not on Twitter so really hoping Gabby comes here to read this.

BlackeyedGruesome · 13/06/2019 00:01

greens and lib dems lost two votes here.

NotBadConsidering · 13/06/2019 00:02

Tweet from GH:

this one is way above my pay grade & fools rush in etc, but I would only say that comment pages cover a wide spectrum; Owen has a clear view but I'd say so does, eg, Hadley Freeman.

Guardian infighting. I knew it would be these two. #TeamHadley.

Twooter · 13/06/2019 06:41

Very concerned with all those switching to voting SNP. Unless Joanna Cherry and Joan are their representatives they’re actually voting opposite to what they want, and risking Scottish Independence at the same time.

bigkidsdidit · 13/06/2019 06:45

Yes I have, but I would not say so on Twitter.

jamrollyolly · 13/06/2019 06:52

Yes, now politically homeless
