I wasn't there - but, it seems to have been a meeting which has upset this trans woman, who runs a refuge. twitter.com/mridul_wadhwa/status/1131305475046367232

anyone know what happened? and how brilliant it was

Even if I wasn't opposed to Mridul's position on these issues I'm quite sure that I wouldn't think much of her as a professional with behaviour like that. It's absolutely pathetic for a grown adult to behave this way. What's even worse is that it almost seems encouraged. "Oh poor baby" oh fuck off. Get an actual grip of yourselves. They'll be hiring wailers to follow them around soon enough.

If you can't tell from my words, I'm really really losing patience with these ridiculous whining activists. Absolute pantomime.

OP, we were so pleased that the MSPs all said that they regard this as a cross-party issue and not a way to score political points against each other. Also that proper discussion was vital.

No, Becky Kauffman was not there and this piece must have been filled in advance of the meeting. As usual it misrepresents Meghan, Joan and grass-roots women's groups in order to dismiss and, yes, silence us.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 23/05/2019 16:56

So, if Becky Kauffman was not there - how can their organisation say that they want to engage in respectful debate?

You can't debate with people who won't speak.

It's so hypocritical.

I honesty think this meeting Joan has organised has the potential to tip MSPs over into THINKING instead of just accepting what Vic Valentine et al say.

Am delighted you were there to represent us and report back. Thank you.

Why are people saying to Mridul ''I'm so sorry'' ''sorry you had to go through that'' etc. Mridul chose to be there, Mridul asked for an invitiation. What a load of attention seeking claptrap.

Forgot to mention that Joan commented on all the cards she'd received. She said that politicians get mass emails on a subject all the time - often containing the same words - but to have personal hand written cards is something else. She was really moved.

So very well done and thank you all!

@SusanS

The unfunded volunteer-led women's movement in Scotland has made breathtaking and huge steps forward for women and children.

It has exposed the cash-rich, publicly funded LGBT organisatons and so-called women's advocates in Scotland as inept and rather sinister in their disregard for women and children.

It has, through the force of argument, succeeded in making politicians aware of the dangers of redefining the word 'woman' to be inclusive of men. As a result, MSPs have taken the Executive to task about such things as recording crime offenders by so-called gender rather than sex.

I salute you, women of Scotland.

Thank you, Pam, is been amazing to be a part of!
