... and they had an outing recently to a girls' school to explain gender theory to them. Not a joke, it seems.

Glosswitch has a good thread building on Twitter about this. Julie Bindel says she is going to use it for the start of her next book.

I'm not attacking them for having a Feminism Society as such. In the OP I simply drew attention to the report that boys from the society explored the topic of gender ideology with girls from another school. They may have expressed largely gender critical views for all we know. However, the wording of the report left me a bit sceptical about that.

First up, the secretaries of FemSoc at Eton, Greg Weaving and Arthur James, spoke about gender theory, and how one’s gender can act as their identity, with the perception of transgenderism gradually being more widely and positively perceived in today’s society.

I have no beef with single sex schools, btw. I went to one myself at secondary age and so did both my children. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunities I did. Half the girls in my year at school went on to do STEM degree subjects. From memory, something like half the boys at my son's school took at least one modern language to AS or A level. Both pretty unusual in co-ed schools.

So next Prime Minister - woman or Old Etonian? I know where I'd put my money.

It's so naive to think that men don't set up institutions in order to perpetuate male power and privilege. Eton is one of those. Their feminist society has some work to do.

Well the worst possible outcome would a general election and Corbyn and the second worst possible outcome would be Johnstone. My main concern in politics is to avoid a Labour government and/or Scottish independence - the latter being greatly increased if Corbyn or Johnstone were PM so I would support Gove. He went to Robert Gordon's College (a private school in Aberdeen, probably single sex when he was there now co-ed)

It is extraordinary how terrified people are of a Corbyn government. I don’t want one myself- but I reckon he would survive about 6 months before being replaced by Starmer. But how anyone could possibly think Johnstone would be better.....
