Posie not being charged

OhHolyJesus · 13/05/2019 15:51

Posie has just done a live video, she's not being charged but only as they ran out of time to charge her for public order.

The police were going to pursue it in the name of public interest (sounds like SG dropped the charges but the police decided to pursue regardless).

Worth watching to get the full story.

Ah, I see. Thanks Dodo. This is beyond ridiculous now. It's dangerous. As far as I'm concerned this is only a technicality away from actual swatting. Maybe it's because I've never had dealings with the men who are more open about being MRAs but I've never come across a political group so shamelessly and fundamentally dishonest, juvenile, and plain weird, as TRAs. They really are something else. If I could go back in time and tell 19 year old me that one day the men's movement most likely to destroy women's rights would be one with a large number of men in pigtails, nappies, and fursuits, who were able to convince libfems that some penises are female, I'd have assumed future me lived on a diet of magic mushrooms.

Sue Pascoe is a conservative candidate for MEP in Yorkshire and Humber, saw that name on postal vote.

JackyHolyoake · 13/05/2019 19:02

Is that Pascoe who used to be the Master of the Hunt:

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 13/05/2019 19:28

YES!!!!!

Popchyk · 13/05/2019 19:32

They ran out of time because 9 months isn't enough time to get a charge on two comments that were made by an individual.

Christ. The Keystone Cops would blush at that one.

Just when you think your opinion of the police can't get any lower.

Posie can make a subject access request to find out what the police hold on her.

All of this and what have the cops actually got to show for it? Miranda the only one actually prosecuted and the judge kicked the case at the very first opportunity.

Wonder how much this shitshow has cost us as taxpayers? And how many actual crimes go uninvestigated because of this nonsense?

FannyCann · 13/05/2019 19:57

SG withdrew charges against Posie. IIRC SG also withdrew charges against Caroline. Meanwhile
Helen Islan got cold feet and withdrew charges against Miranda but the CPS had the bit between their teeth and went ahead with the prosecution anyway. Helen was a reluctant, tearful witness and the case was slung out by the judge. Please correct me if I am wrong on any of these recollections.

So it seems the likely explanation is one of two possibilities:

  1. A policy of making complaints to the police in the knowledge that the police will harass/threaten and generally cause grief to the person they complain about. They can then withdraw charges and leave the other person tainted whilst not having the bother of going to court etc themselves (except that failed for HI).
  2. They have come to realise these cases bring adverse publicity, especially when they are slung out of court which is likely to happen.

They should be prosecuted for wasting police time and the police should be prosecuted for harassment.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 13/05/2019 19:58

It shows a pattern of harassment. Why do the police still insist on chasing up ‘crimes’ then? People are getting fed up with it and becoming mistrustful if the police.

JackyHolyoake · 13/05/2019 20:08

FannyCann

I think your interpretation of the main "witness" in the Miranda Yardley case may not be quite accurate.

PencilsInSpace · 13/05/2019 20:16

Thanks Spartacus Smile

So she's not relieved, she's disappointed! Go Posie!

FannyCann · 13/05/2019 20:30

I stand corrected Jacky

However she was a reluctant witness and emailed the court the day before proceedings demanding anonymity or she would refuse to testify. The judge wasn't having any of it and in the end she did testify by video link.

Michelleoftheresistance · 13/05/2019 21:50

The TRA lobby has been desperate for a long time for strategic law cases to set precedents and swing law into their favour. There are their brainwashed twerps in high places who are pushing this through on their orders. I suspect there are also the brainwash resistant and highly pissed off people in both the police and CPS also quietly helping push this through to prove that there is no point in ceaselessly litigating and weaponizing the police and courts because it isn't actually against the law and it makes the police and courts look like complete twits.

Not to mention the sheer embarrassment of a judge sitting listening to a case that goes 'and then they tweeted that, so I tweeted this and I put this up on WhatsApp and THEY retweeted it...' like a bunch of year fives on a long wet lunch break.

GeordieGenes · 13/05/2019 22:02

What would SG have to actually do before she's charged with wasting police time? Serious question!

ChattyLion · 13/05/2019 22:03

Posie Flowers

Also this:

If I could go back in time and tell 19 year old me that one day the men's movement most likely to destroy women's rights would be one with a large number of men in pigtails, nappies, and fursuits, who were able to convince libfems that some penises are female, I'd have assumed future me lived on a diet of magic mushrooms.

Quoll Grin

LangCleg · 13/05/2019 22:14

Christ. The Keystone Cops would blush at that one.

Well, the Keystone Cops fucked up by mistake. It's hard not to see this as deliberate.

the police should be prosecuted for harassment

Quite.

Please consider backing Harry the Owl, I know I can’t post the link here, but it is easily found. There is a thread here about it already.

He is going to court over Humberside Police ‘checking his thinking’ and speaking to his MD over retweeting a limerick.

I’m about to watch the Posie video, they always set me up for the day! 💐🦸🏼‍♀️. I’m not sure how that second emoji will translate, but it is a blonde superwoman, which seems appropriate.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/05/2019 07:54

Dumb question but who polices the police? Look at Stephen Lawrence, Hillsborough, Jimmy saville... questions asked and sod all done.

misscockerspaniel · 14/05/2019 10:35

Who polices the police? [Resists urge to put AC-12] Isn't that the job of the police and crime commissioners???

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/05/2019 11:18

They don’t seem to be very effective.

GeordieGenes · 14/05/2019 11:30

I don't know who polices them, but it seems that they report to Susie Green.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 14/05/2019 12:48

the Police Federation? Or is that the police union, I can't remember.

GodDammitAmy · 14/05/2019 13:06

"WPUK together with their connected We Need To Talk group have been reported to the police counter terrorist unit as a hate group under the UK Prevent programme. They are regarded in the same category as Britain First. This is not listening and debating with a reasonable group".

Reported by who exactly? A bunch of TRAs continuing to try and smear the names of GC women?
