MN have deleted the thread started by Maya - who lost her job for speaking up for women- because it talks about her crowdfunding for legal costs

Here is today's times article on the case https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/tax-expert-fired-for-saying-trans-women-aren-t-women-tpqgnm9vj?shareToken=3f12f5cae61c02fd41040eb816fd37b4&wgu=2705255426441557045162977940f0d76fa1&wgexpiry=1564821162&utmmsource=planit&utmmedium=affiliate&utmm_content=22278

The Green Party rep was precisely why I didn't vote for them here either, because I know the Green Party members here, and they would all chant the cult mantra in exactly the same brain dead manner.

Datun · 08/05/2019 12:16

What is the definition of woman they are using?

"Oh I would love to hear each of those lazy, flaccid brained bandwagon jumpers on that panel answer that question"

It's The Number One Question.

Because the answer to it is I'm sexist.

borntobequiet · 08/05/2019 12:22

Glad I was at work so couldn't watch, sounds horrendous. But when I get home the old Visa card will be coming out again...

TimeLady · 08/05/2019 12:23

I was astonished at Jo's use of the word 'provoke'. Blatant BBC bias - again. Could they have been any more woke?

And

"Should you have been discussing this on Twitter?"

FFS

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 08/05/2019 12:25

God, that was disappointing. I was hoping for a discussion. But no. An entire panel without a scintilla of critical thinking. And as for "provocative"... My jaw's aching I clenched it so hard. Angry

LangCleg · 08/05/2019 12:27

I caught the typo and I love Bernard!

CriticalCondition · 08/05/2019 12:27

Uninformed sheep taking the opportunity to bleat TWAW.

Where was the discussion about freedom of speech? This case is not about trans, or Caster, or 'getting hormones'. It's about the freedom to discuss those matters without fear of losing your job.

That's what makes this case so important.

Off to pledge some more support for Maya.

LangCleg · 08/05/2019 12:29

I still can't get over Chemical Castration Man. I honestly thought I must have been hallucinating. He really said that.

It's, like, one step further than a woman is a man without a penis. It's a woman is a man whose penis has gone floppy cos pills.

And we're the transphobic ones?! That bloke managed to be both sexist and transphobic in the same fucking comment.

Datun · 08/05/2019 12:30

It ruins your faith, it really does.

Discussion of the transgender issue has become, to me, a temperature check of whether someone is worth listening to in other areas.

If they are setting themselves up as someone whose opinion has credibility, then they should make sure they know what they're talking about.

None of them are informed. And that man thought his opinion should have credibility, despite actually admitting that he was totally uninformed.

I mean, where do you get off with that?!!!

Even though I don't know what I'm talking about, and I'll admit I don't know what I'm talking about, you should still listen to me because...????

Well, we all know the answer.

🤣

Datun · 08/05/2019 12:30

Exactly.

ThePurportedDoctoress · 08/05/2019 12:31

Coburn came across as hostile and biased from the word go. I wonder why. On BBC, the public broadcaster. On an issue that was PUT OUT TO PUBLIC CONSULTATION.

littlbrowndog · 08/05/2019 12:33

Yeah but only the right sort of public 😉

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 08/05/2019 12:38

and the way coburn read out Maya's measure and entirely factual tweet like she was holding it as arm's length in metaphorical tongs, in case she got some transphobia on her.

gah! I may start throwing insults around again in a minute Wink

seriously though, probably (another) complaint to the BBC is in order. if they were going to let the panel spout their entirely bollocks beliefs about trans women, they should have had some balance.

Melroses · 08/05/2019 12:41

Blimey!! I what did I miss!!!!

TBH I have lost patience with trying to listen to woke stuff.

TalkingintheDark · 08/05/2019 12:43

Sounds like it was seriously grim - how crap.

Fucking BBC.

But what WAS that typo??! Grin am going to be trying to guess all day now

LangCleg · 08/05/2019 12:43

But what WAS that typo??!

Hostage was truncated to only its first two letters. Tee hee!

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 08/05/2019 12:44

Ahhhhhhhhh

Funny

Was just coming on to whine about missing the typo!!!

TalkingintheDark · 08/05/2019 12:45

Grin thank you Lang!

No wonder you were mortified, Bernard. 💐 for you

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/05/2019 12:46

Sounds like I shouldn't bother listening but just go straight to filing a complaint to the BBC.

Hopefully it will boost supports for The Thing though.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 08/05/2019 12:46

There wasn't a trans person on the panel, either.

They must have forgotten to invite one. Seems remiss.

Melroses · 08/05/2019 12:47

The woke high horse is a long way up.

S1naidSucks · 08/05/2019 12:52

They must have forgotten to invite one. Seems remiss.

It’s the BBC, they don’t need to because they are so woke they’re hallucinating.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 08/05/2019 12:54

Could they have been any more woke?
Actually I’m going to stop using ‘woke’, it’s far too fluffy. I’m going to call it what is: bigotry, sexism, misogyny.

FloralBunting · 08/05/2019 12:54

Honestly I am stressed to the eyeballs right now, I have nothing but contempt for every participant in that segment but Maya, and I'm so bloody angry I am having to take a deep breath before I post anything about anything on Facebook. I'm having an important meeting this afternoon which will require a clear head and I'm still steaming cross.

But the typo is still making me giggle, so I consider you've done a public service today Bernard.

theOtherPamAyres · 08/05/2019 13:01

The Panel were determined to ignore the issues raised by Maya's case and talk about the victimisation and accommodation of transwomen.

Maya was not given the opportunity to respond to their irrelevant points. Coburn turned her back in such a dismissive and unfair way, with a 'thanks for joining us'.

The Green party are really proud of being anti-women, aren't they? Molly Scott Cato even said that the MOST IMPORTANT thing was to give trans people what they wanted!

The air was blue in this house and it's took me an hour to calm down.
