GenderGP have been notified by @bbc5live that the recorded segment with @MyWebDoctorUK has been postponed until a later date

I would very much like to know why the BBC actually bumped them...

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 25/02/2019 12:26

Maybe they've realised how biased they are and have been nudged slightly in another direction.
It won't change things for too long though as they are the BBC.

DonaldTwain · 25/02/2019 12:28

I think datun is right. Media stardom is a little further off for this lady tha perhaps she thought. Unless she takes up juggling and Britain’s got talent let’s her on? I’d say that’s your best bet right now Helen love

BBC1 this evening

"Trans Kids: Why Medicine Matters
Panorama

More young people than ever are exploring their gender identity. Last year, two and a half thousand under-eighteens were referred to NHS England's gender identity clinics for support. Some are hoping to get access to potentially irreversible treatments as soon as they can. Doctors are divided about the best way to help.

Dr Faye Kirkland investigates how much we understand about the care being offered to transgender children."

Still available from last year (featuring cricicism of Dr Christian)
'Online Doctors Uncovered
Panorama

Panorama goes undercover to reveal online doctor sites putting profit before patient care. In 2017 the Care Quality Commission issued a warning about the risks of buying drugs prescribed by doctors online. The programme discovers opiate-based painkillers and slimming tablets being sold to potentially vulnerable people and antibiotics being delivered across Europe in the face of warnings about resistance.

Dr Faye Kirkland, journalist and GP, meets the families of patients who have died after online consultations and exposes the sites running rings around the regulators."

So inter alia a potentially awkward link between gender dysphoria and GPs who will prescribe hormones on-line.

Meet0nTheledge · 25/02/2019 13:02

I have been listening to the 5Live breakfast show since the early 90s when it was Radio 5. That interview with HW finished it for me, I haven't tuned in since.

Dr Webberley and Gender GP are celebrated by some who believe they are transgender for the speed and efficiency in securing cross-sex hormones via the internet.

Website says Nihal this afternoon is talking about Finding Neverland and Michael Jackson, so another kind of child abuse.

HW claims there is an interview in the can. Difficult to see it having much shelf-life. Assuming there is an interview?

It may well prove important to preserve.

MillytantForceit · 25/02/2019 13:36

Whisper it softly, but I reckon there is not and never was a broadcast interview, just a conversation on the phone with a junior researcher.

nauticant · 25/02/2019 13:38

But that would mean someone pushing gender identity ideology is willing to lie about what's really going on. Obviously that can't be true.

2015 Channel 4 News

'Inside the online gender clinic of a pioneering & controversial doctor'

Melroses · 25/02/2019 14:57

Oh, it didn't happen then.

MillytantForceit · 25/02/2019 15:08

"Oh, it didn't happen then."

  • No. Emma Barnett ran a discussion of the world's most advanced SuperDildo instead.
Melroses · 25/02/2019 15:10

That sounds interesting - I may have to Listen Again anyway Grin Does it make tea?

MillytantForceit · 25/02/2019 15:19

"Hands-Free," apparently.
Blush

LizzieSiddal · 25/02/2019 15:21

I did wonder if the Tweet was a 'joke'.

Problem is, there's so much nonsense about, it's hard to tell.

MillytantForceit · 25/02/2019 15:25

First one suggested she was going to go onto one of two live shows. Second one saying it was 'postponed' states that the interview already exists and will be played over the air in due course.

I smell immolated underwear.

SunsetBeetch · 26/02/2019 11:16

Do you think Helen Webberley may not be the most trustworthy of people or something? Shock

Bumping this because she is advertising a live stream with a panel of experts.
