He was so beautiful back in the day. None of those androgynous men ever thought they were women, they were just proud to be who they were, and we loved them for it. No conflict with women at all. How did it go so wrong..?

Us women in our 40's grew up with these men who wore make up (and were quite clearly men) and androgynous women (who were nonetheless very much sure of their being women) which is why the current trans fad does not compute.

I liked the old school androgynous men who fucked around with gender stereotypes without pretending that doing so changed their sex. They were lovely. Can we have them back, please? The current crop of angry young men with painted baseball bats and hulking middle aged men acting out a particularly unfortunate form of midlife crisis are vastly inferior.

Marilyn has great bone structure, but Boy George was prettier imo. Both appear to be on good speaking terms with reality, which is perhaps the most attractive trait a person can have these days.
