This woman is standing outside King's College Cambridge every Saturday afternoon protesting against the silencing of women.

Isn't she amazing?

@WTFIsAGleepglorp - thank you.

Judder · 27/01/2019 13:03

@maniacmagpie you are amazing. I remember seeing a Cambridge thread and ignoring it too cos I don't live in Cambridge. this looks like a reason to visit, need to hunt that that thread first ...

KatherinaMinola · 27/01/2019 13:11

That's amazing. Brilliant costume and banner.

KatherinaMinola · 27/01/2019 13:12

That's amazing. Brilliant costume and banner.

Yeahnahyeah · 27/01/2019 13:17

Still learning here.... Can someone explain why the link I put up to maniacmagpie s first thread (Cambridge) was removed by MN?

Dragon3 · 27/01/2019 13:21

Yeahnahyeah I wonder whether it was to stop this discussion being considered a thread about a thread? So that they don't have to remove this one. Not 100 percent sure though

WunderBlah · 27/01/2019 13:31

There is a very interesting thread here

CisMyArse · 27/01/2019 13:39

maniacmagpie I'd stand silently by your side if I were closer. I'd hope that more people would do so too. Your bravery is humbling.

Well done and thank you.

Bowlofbabelfish · 27/01/2019 13:41

Incredible. If I lived closer I’d be supplying you with fortifying tea and snacks.

Yeahnahyeah · 27/01/2019 13:43

Yeah think your right thanks Dragon.

@maniacmagpie

Vixxxy · 27/01/2019 13:46

Amazing. I sometimes convince myself I have the balls to do stuff like this. Always turns out I don't, so endlessly grateful to other women putting themselves at risk, wish I had the courage, and eventually I might, with a bit of luck.

GrinitchSpinach · 27/01/2019 13:47

Bravissima! Star

feministfairy · 27/01/2019 13:55

Brilliant protest. Well done maniacmagpie

Awesome! Flowers Flowers

How do I view the picture? When I click on it on my phone it doesn't get any bigger so I can't read what her sign says.

flourella · 27/01/2019 14:23

I'm another who ignored the Cambridge thread as I'm not in the area. And I'm another who thinks this protest is brilliant and very brave Flowers

There are some brilliant young people out there.

I would love to hear a discussion including Maniacmagpie, RoseofDawn, and that Durham philosopher. The younger generation were generally brought up with more liberal assumptions. It is great to hear them defending free speech from their own and honest perspectives. I assume the BBC would not dare....even if they included LM or AC for balance.

HumberElla · 27/01/2019 15:12

Blimmin brilliant woman.
That’s courage that is. With a capital C.

GCSocScientist · 27/01/2019 15:22

She is amazing! So impressed and inspired.

AncientLights · 27/01/2019 16:42

I often find that I skip threads because I think they won't really apply to me, often for geographical reasons, and it was so with this one. But then when I'm prompted to take a look, well bugger me if they aren't the most interesting threads on the entire board.

Maniacmagpie, you're one of my heroes. Flowers Gin

papayasareyum · 27/01/2019 16:47

fantastic! That's what Brave looks like x
