Haven't watched the full thing yet, but Glinner gives MN a nice shout-out as "brilliant" and "a bunch of Nancy Drews" at about 19:20. Grin

Love them both. It's such a great conversation.

It is interesting that a charity which purports to fight bullying and represent children is happy to promote, praise and accept money from an online campaign to incite harassment and hatred towards a named individual, in what they themselves call "spite".

This should be enough on its own to stop any legitimate organisation funding Mermaids or inviting them into schools or to influence policymaking.

SignmeUp: He talked too much? Meghan was interviewing him. isn't that what's supposed to happen?

I thought it was a great interview.

Interesting how the trolls on Twitter were all tweeting how his career was over now and he'll never recover etc etc.

And she asked, has this affected your work? "No, everyone agrees with me."

That's just it isn't it! Everyone does agree with him.

Sending huge love out to Meghan. What an amazing woman.

SignMeUp · 24/01/2019 22:36

I apologize. I thought it was a conversation. Now I realize it was an interview, so that makes sense for him to do most of the talking.

LondonPainter · 25/01/2019 00:35

This is great and I love them both too. Will definitely share this.

Glinner · 25/01/2019 14:35

I sort of agree that I talked too much. It came from being excited at speaking to Meghan and excitement at being able to talk about the gender crisis.

I will work on it though. More than anything I would like to leave the stage entirely to women, and I hope to do so when more women are able to safely speak.

andyoldlabour · 25/01/2019 15:05

That was great. When I try explaining to my wife about this whole thing, I tend to go on a bit, because she is a scientist and so much of this sounds absolutely ridiculous when you say it out loud, more so when I have tried to explain to friends.
Well done the pair of you.

Qcng · 25/01/2019 15:10

Thanks for sharing I'm going to watch it right now!

FleetsumNJetsum · 25/01/2019 15:15

You did not talk too much. I really enjoyed your conversation with Meghan. I see the comments painting you a demon on twitter, and it just underlines for me how far apart the two sides are in the gender crisis. Only...is it two sides or three sides or more?? GC, TRA, transexuals who don't want TRAs speaking for them, AGPs... I want people like you and Meghan unpicking this all for me. Don't stop.

GrinitchSpinach · 25/01/2019 15:45

Thanks, Glinner. Hope you and your wife can take a nice holiday soon--maybe somewhere without a wifi connection, for a break from the Twitter bile brigade?

I'll save this for later, once I've worked out how one of my kids has managed to knacker the sound on my laptop with the dancing hammers that they call hands.
Looking forward to it.
Another thanks to you Glinner. Like Meghan, you always seem fearless but it must take such a toll.

Glinner · 25/01/2019 17:04

I'm fine. I don't see much of the hate because of how I have my settings. But yeah, holiday needed sometime, definitely.

Ereshkigal · 25/01/2019 18:25

Hope you're missing out on the tedious memes too.

Judder · 25/01/2019 18:48

Hi glinner I just wanted to use this chance to say thank you so much for doing what you're doing. I am one of the many who are too afraid to say anything on Twitter ... yet. Trying to work up the courage. In the mean time I just sign all the petitions and write the letters etc. I've been lobbied by strangers to unfollow you more than once and no way will I capitulate, they can bog right off. Your feed is so good for morale, but I do worry about what it might be doing to yours so glad to hear you have found some magic settings that work for you. I loved the interview with MM. Warmest wishes to you, your wife and family.

ChairmanMiaow123 · 25/01/2019 19:31

Amen to that, Jenner...Graham’s an absolute legend; like Beowulf. 😊

In solidarity, I’ve been re-watching The IT Crowd again.

I love Richard Ayoade, bless him - he always looks like he’s about to corpse.

Sorry, Graham! I’ll let you get on...😉

ChairmanMiaow123 · 25/01/2019 19:32

That reply was to @Judder...not Jenner.

That’s a hell of a Freudian slip!

God bless your settings.

Placemarking to listen tomorrow.

Cheers Graham.

Qcng · 26/01/2019 10:11

It's reassuring that there are people like Meghan Murphy talking sense in the circus show that is Canada.

I completely agree with Glimmer that Twitter is totally unfit for purpose, and with MM that Twitter was built on a foundation of free speech but now they pick-and-choose who has free speech and who doesn't on their platform. Misogyny and death threats stay up. "Men can't be women" results in permanent ban. Says it all.

I keep waiting for it die off in the way all social media sites that struggle to monetize their model do eventually.

CountessConstance · 26/01/2019 11:01

@Glinner excuse the mushiness, but ....
Thanks Flowers for taking a stand.
Thanks for being on PrimeTime.
Thanks for being brave.
Thanks for sticking at it in spite of all the bile flowing your way.
Thanks for keeping on keeping on.

WunderBlah · 26/01/2019 17:28

Always brilliant to see this topic out in the open and to see men as well as women speaking up for women. Thanks to both. You are doing more than I ever could and are brave and insightful.

I liked the interview and thought it was good but I am afraid I have to agree with one of the comments on there that you lost me a little at the end Glinner with the bit about some transwomen (your friends) being women.

I used to think the honour system worked but now I think my gender critical stance has changed that. I think the grey area is what has led us to the current situation and is open to abuse (like Karen White being the wrong sort of trans).

Women are XX and I think we have to be allowed to name that and not be brow beaten into using opposite terms through a need for politeness or being nice. Women don't have an air about them or a magic, they have XX in their DNA.
