I often think the same Greenglass . I really hope that in just a few years time there'll be books written by social commentators called things like "How did mum become dad?", examining how we got to this point.
I want to point and laugh and mock and be derisive - and that's so not me in any other situation. But I have a brain, a critical faculty. I watched a Canadian TV discussion show on YouTube, including some guy called Nicholas who teaches Transgender studies. He started off his spiel by saying that he just wanted to make it clear from the start that there was no such thing as biological sex. And he knew, he was a medical historian. The sheer pomposity and self righteous fact twisting to get to this point infuriates me.
One of the panelists, Jordan Peterson (who I know is a controversial figure) did try and correct him. But it was so passive. Another panelist, a transwoman, who did believe in there being only two biological sexes, also addressed it but very passively. The lawyer said nothing. I'm sure in any other type of debate people would have instinctively, instantly just said don't be so ridiculous, where's the evidence, who are you to rewrite medical science etc ?
But they don't. The TRAs and the woke population scream and shout at people. Nicholas even had the cheek at the end to advise everyone that he was putting his career, and his physical and mental safety, on the line just by appearing on the show. He tried to look weak and afraid, this fairly well built man with a beard and suit who was an academic at the University of Toronto. I bet I'd have been more afraid in the walk back to the car park than him.
