Well worth my subscription!

Agreed. A couple of people have said so but no response from him - also recent increase in numbers esp young girls.
HildaSnibbs · 22/12/2018 10:29
Just want to add my THANK YOU JANICE and Lucy Bannerman and Andrew Gilligan for all your excellent writing on this, today's article was excellent and when I figure your how to use the share token thing I will be sharing it.
happydappy2 · 22/12/2018 10:43
Janice well done. More pressure needs to be put on the IOC to make a ruling regards transwomen competing against women-the 2020 olympics are fast approaching.
I hope RM realises what a prize twat they are and retreats back to competing against men.
LiverpoolReSisters · 22/12/2018 10:44
Someone just emailed us Mermaids accounts for year end 31 March 2018. If anyone is interested - don't know how to share a document here.

Janis 1 - punches pulled 0
That is a fabulous article. Thank you Janis.
Haven’t read the other one yet but will do in a bit when I get time.
frazzled1 · 22/12/2018 10:58
Thank you Janice and team.
And thank you whoever got the recording of theMermaids 'training' session. Bonkers. Dangerous ideology based on sexist stereotypes. And jellybabies.
If Mermaids are so convinced by their cod science they should be delighted this training session recording is out there. I hope it's heard widely and by the Big Lottery Fund.

All you can do is copy and paste a link. Or a screenshot, using the paperclip icon.
Or just say if there is anything worrying in them?
ErrolTheDragon · 22/12/2018 11:10
Hilda - re sharetokens, do you use the website, tablet app or mobile app? I've only managed to work out how to do it in the iPad app - one of the icons down in the right hand corner, then choose whichever medium you want but to just get the link use mail and then c&p from there.
(I believe c&p'ing sharetoken links posted on here would work, don't know if there's any copyright/legal reason not to, if you're a subscriber anyway at least.)

The Times has done great investigative writing on this issue. Well done, Janice!
hipsterfun · 22/12/2018 11:26
I hope RM realises what a prize twat they are and retreats back to competing against men.
RM will get their arse kicked though. We know it, RM knows it.
MsMcWoodle · 22/12/2018 11:42
Liverpool Resisters. Very interested. Can you DM?
Katvonbatshit · 22/12/2018 11:49
Thanks Janice
Hubbie just brought the Times and I'm leaving it open in the loo where DD2 will see it. DD2 thinks I'm overreacting over this.
No DD2 it's the biggest child protection issue going.

Mermaids' accounts and annual report are publically available here on the government website.

Mermaids don't have a leg to stand on!
BoreOfWhabylon · 22/12/2018 12:00
Great stuff to wake up to today! Thank you Janice, Andrew G, James Kirkup, Sanchez Manning et al.
Today is the first day after the Winter Solstice, the days are lengthening now, imperceptibly at first but more and more glorious light penetrating the gloom every day.
There's an analogy there

VickyEadie · 22/12/2018 12:11
It would have been good if Janice Turner had picked up the glorious error in the Mermaids training about humans having "up to 42 chromosomes".
It's 46...
ErrolTheDragon · 22/12/2018 12:14
You'd hope most Times readers wouldn't need that one pointing out!
VickyEadie · 22/12/2018 12:16
You'd hope most Times readers wouldn't need that one pointing out!
I know - but it adds to the 'this is a load of unscientific bollocks' for the non-Times readers!
BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 22/12/2018 12:23
Janice's article is outstanding - such clarity
if anyone can read that and not see Mermaids for who they really are, they need their head examined
BoreOfWhabylon · 22/12/2018 12:23
Also that Dr Helen Webberley is actually currently suspended by the GMC and not permitted to practise as a doctor anywhere in the UK
LonginesPrime · 22/12/2018 12:29
"Feminists are constantly accused of being on the wrong side of history. Yet Mermaids, with its clownfish and jelly-babies, is clearly on the wrong side of science."
Hear hear.
ErrolTheDragon · 22/12/2018 12:32
For anyone who's interested, here's a link with the number of chromosomes for each species. Humans have somewhat fewer than a potato. Those with 42 includes pandas and rats.
ErrolTheDragon · 22/12/2018 12:33
Sorry, forgot to paste the link, it's not cunningly hidden!
