To me, it's important to keep talking about situations like this, and to be very aware of them and their impact, because Canada is another 'canary in the coal mine' situation as lesbians are right now.
I don't think the UK is in 'sleeping' mode, as lots of people have woken up to what's happening due to the GRA consultation and also the sterling efforts of many women and some men who have been shouting about this for a lot longer than many of us have.
But I do think it's important to not be complacent, as in, 'it will never happen here'.
Witnessing the gradual tightening on what can and can't be said, the gradual loosening in this country as to what constitutes facts and science, the gradual move towards no-platforming, and the attempted demonisation of women who are critical of the appropriation of what 'woman' actually means.
And the unquestioning sign-up to an anti-science, anti-woman agenda by key political and media figures.
We may be a small step behind Canada, but it's only a small step.
We need to keep speaking up, to stop a situation where the prevailing Zeitgiest of 'transwomen are women' #nodebate has enabled a man to vocalise his fixation on '10-12 year old girls', in plain sight (not implied- it's in his online commentary) buoyed by his percieved protection of being 'trans'.
Who also appears, according to his own social media, to have a 'menstruation fetish' despite him having a male-body.
Sunlight. The more sunlight that's shone, the more this will be exposed before the UK falls to Canda's failings of women.
