This country despises women

And............. it's West Yorkshire police. Sad

That'll be why he just got a restraining order. They are far too busy dealing with the literal violence of free speech / opinion to be dealing with minor items like women being battered and bruised.

eurochick · 19/12/2018 15:47

That's awful. What scum.

KMoKMo · 19/12/2018 15:51

@feministfairy

Police investigate and charge.

COURT convict and issue restraining orders.

Your issue is with the court system. Not the police. Wind your neck in.

GrinitchSpinach · 19/12/2018 15:54

Shocking footage. Glad to see the comments are overwhelmingly along the lines of "why isn't he locked up?"

What would it take ,though, for lawmakers and courts to notice the overwhelming public support for hard time for these offenders?

Elfinablender · 19/12/2018 16:06

So, a restraining order for the man who was lucky enough just to knock his pregnant ex unconscious rather than dead? Nothing to see here.

feministfairy · 19/12/2018 16:09

KMoKMo Fixed it for you :

And............. it's West Yorkshire police and their tainted court system that overlooked the systematic abuse of women for years.

That'll be why he just got a restraining order. They are far too busy dealing with the literal violence of free speech / opinion to be dealing with minor items like women being battered and bruised.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 19/12/2018 18:14

West Yorkshire police are too busy policing gender to worry about policing crimes against women.

Juells · 19/12/2018 18:33

Wind your neck in.

KMoKMo must have joined mumsnet just to tell women what to do.

KMoKMo · 19/12/2018 21:03

@Juells and you joined mumsnet to offer no contribution to threads merely to shit stir?

I’m sick of police getting bad press. The police arrested and charged him the same day according to the article. The police are at no fault in this case.

RollerJed · 19/12/2018 21:07

KMoKMo and not one mention of the actual crime.

Thanks for your contribution eh Hmm

KMoKMo · 19/12/2018 21:14

@RollerJed

Pot kettle. You’ve contributed . . . ? ? ?

Bubonicpanic · 19/12/2018 21:20

Wind your neck in?

How does one do that?

starcrossedseahorse · 19/12/2018 21:23

Hate that expression, it's so aggressive.

Anyway.feministfairy has it spot on.

Imissgmichael · 19/12/2018 21:30

Actually I have a big problem with police and crimes against women.

They frequently ignore restraining orders for one example. Another example, a young friend of mine reported a neighbour with convictions as long as your arm for shouting racist and sexist abuse at her, spiitting in her face and throwing a bin at her children’s bedroom window. Police told her he hadn’t committed a crime as the window didn’t break. Did I mention he admitted it? Nah nothing to see here, apparently she must have antagonised him.

Perhaps you should wind your neck in kMokMo.

Newname12 · 19/12/2018 21:37

Genuine question, what have the police done wrong? (In this specific case, i mean)

If they arrested and charged him same day, what should they have done that they didn’t?

KMoKMo · 19/12/2018 21:45

@Imissgmichael start a thread about your young friend then.
In this case the police did their job and shouldn’t be blamed for the court or specifically the magistrate who decided on the ‘punishment’.

Melanippe · 19/12/2018 21:49

Vile man.

No wonder he's laughing, given that he got a slap on the wrist. Police and courts couldn't really give a shit about violence against women, never have done, never will do.

feministfairy · 19/12/2018 22:03

KMoKo
You don't get to 'police' threads on this board, telling Imissgmichael to start their own thread or me to 'wind your neck in'. There are too many people silencing and censoring women at the moment. Don't add to it. Women can discuss and explore issues freely on here. Thank you.

MargueritaPink · 19/12/2018 22:13

It is not the police who are fault here. They charged him and the matter was brought to court. The police have no say in the sentencing.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 22:23

I'm curious. Have the West Yorkshire Police ever handled a case with a female victim appropriately?

arranbubonicplague · 19/12/2018 22:38

The police have no say in the sentencing.

Police handling of interviews and curation of evidence has a substantial impact on the charges that can be brought and the likelihood of conviction.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 22:42

(Points up)

Is this the WYP's latest attempt at mastering social media?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/12/2018 22:49

I guess they are too busy with that dastardly Arch Villain Posie Parker to do proper police work.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 23:09

I think she needs a costume.

Imissgmichael · 19/12/2018 23:25

Well said Feminist.

Just look at how police in Rotherham handled the wholesale rape of little girls. When I say handled I mean ignoring their plight, the actual law, calling them prostitutes, taking them back to their abusers and threatening to arrest their parents for trying to protect their daughters. Any of them sanctioned yet?
