"Mr Ratelband's case has now gone to a court in the city of Arnhmen in the eastern Dutch province of Gelderland."
So still awaiting a decision.
But I get where he is coming from. If you can change your sex on your birth certificate to the sex that you are actually not, then why can you not change your date of birth to a preferred date?
What is the reasoning there?
And in the UK if you can identify your way into one protected characteristic (sex) then why can't you identify your way into other protected characteristics? Age, disability, race, sexual orientation etc.
We've already seen Anthony Lennon identifying as black and being awarded funding reserved for black people in the arts.
Some male transgender people are already identifying into a different sexual orientation (claiming to be lesbians when they are heterosexual males).
And rather more worryingly, can 10 year olds identify as 16 year olds in order to have sex with a 42 year old (who also identifies as a 16 year old). If children can "know" that they are the wrong sex, then surely they can "know" that they are the wrong age?
Because that is where all this is heading.
